Unkept village

Both of the men at the front desk were stunned.

They didn't think that this ordinary-looking kid would have two whole gold coins.

In fact, the tears and cuts on his clothes led them to believe that he was just a laborer who helped out in construction.

With a salary like that, he wouldn't be able to afford such a room.

but reality showed something different.

"Brother Robert, wait," the rude inn keeper said as he grabbed the coin from the desk.

He went to the back of the desk and brought something akin to a magnifying glass.

"hm?" the rude inn keeper frowned

"seems legit?" With a confused tone in his voice, the rude inn keeper said.

"Okay kid, take the room key; it's on the second floor," Robert said with a slight smile.

"but brother.." the rude inn keeper tried to complain.

Of course, he could come up with other reasons why Frank would have a gold coin; pickpockets were plentiful in the city of blades.
