Chapter 09: The Rise of the Alpha Species

Asquel asks Clay if he was considering on training Niko. He asked Clay if the proposition Niko gave him yesterday was considerable.

But clay insisted that Niko should not be taught.

Clay saw Niko as an adventurous boy who would only live for the sake of discovering new things and lands.

And not some kid who should be trained to fight.

But asquel insisted that the boy should also learn how to fight. It was also self-defense for him to prevent any harm done at him on the future.

Clay became silent and drank his booze while asquel persisted on the matter.

Niko then locked himself at his tavern and thought about clay "Why would he decline? And I also offered to teach him about our human culture. How can he decline when I badly wanted to learn how to defend myself like them."

Niko looked depressed as he thought of this.

Then a massive earthquake occured, It shook the Entire Capital.

Niko rushed outside his tent to see what was going on. Then Clay and Asquel started running towards where Niko was.

Then the Elder called for a gathering at the Hall.

Clay and asquel explained to niko about the Earthquake and they walked towards the hall for the gathering.

The Elder then greeted the reptoids and then spoke about this matter.

"My dear reptoids, It seems that the earthquake just now was a signal that the massive portal has now opened. It seems they have succeeded on Conquering this Continent."

Then the reptoids mumbled things, and Helen asked the Elder. "Elder what do you mean by a massive portal? Where is it located? that even our Capital was affected by it."

"It is located at the sea where humans used to call "Bermuda triangle" far away from here. As I've said, It is the Largest portal they've ever built. Upon opening that portal would need a large scale amount of Mercury fluid (Alpha breed's Blood). I'm not exactly sure on how many brethrens they've killed just to acquire the certain amount for opening that portal." The elder replied.

"So opening that portal had a huge risk on losing their numbers? Why would they use that when it would cost them to lose military forces. What if they Opened it and then got exterminated. It would surely be a worthless effort on sacrificing their kind." Clay said.

"I know it requires alot of sacrifices, But opening that portal means they've secured the Continent. They've assured their victory. That is why they've Opened that massive portal to Transport all of their armies here." The Elder replied.

Niko then gulps and said.

"So that means, Humanity on surface-"

"Is no more, boy." Clay intervened.

Niko then looks at his palms and clenches his fists then started walking back towards his tavern in utter depressed state.

Helen looks at Clay and Clay went to follow Niko.

Niko then Cries while he was walking at the Capital's road near the park, he stopped. And looked at the beautiful flowers blooming. Then Clay held his shoulder but Niko tapped it back.

Niko then starts to walk again towards the direction where his tavern was located. Clay just stood still thinking about how niko feels right now. "Losing a family is unbearable, what more if you lose your kind."

Then Asquel and Helen showed up infront of clay. then they went to follow Niko.

Niko then walks inside to his tavern then takes off his leather jacket and sits at his bed, thinking deeply on what would he need to do.

"Every humans on earth has been killed by those giants. Am I the only human left?"

He began to feel desperate on taking revenge on those giants.

As Clay and the others walked towards Niko's tavern. They sensed a strong raging aura that was coming out from niko's tavern. Then they rushed towards Niko and saw Niko's face, Fully enraged that he even bit his mouth up to the point that it was wounded. Mumbling about the giants then Black aura suddenly showed up around niko and then clay as well as the others were beginning to feel worried. They then rushed to go to Niko but a strong aura prevented them from coming closer.

Helen tried to get closer as soon as she steps on the aura's boundaries she suddenly fainted. Then clay yelled at Niko "Boy you need to stop thinking about those things. Please don't let your anger consume you."

But Niko couldn't hear what he was talking about.

Asquel as well tried to go near Niko, but he fainted as well.

Clay then thinks that if he tried to go near him he would also faint and no one would be able to stop niko.

Then he tried to talk to Niko for a few minutes until he mentioned the name Chloe, then Niko's expression suddenly began to change. His furious expression began to calm as clay continued to explain and talk about chloe.

Until Niko calms down and came back to his senses.

When he looked around he saw Asquel and helen passed out on the ground.

"What? Why are they passed out?!" Niko asked while in shock.

Clay then replies calmly "they were drunk, that's why they fainted." Clay didn't tell Niko what he became when he lost his senses.

Then Niko suddenly felt sleepy and he told Clay that he wanted to get some rest. Clay agreed but will keep an eye for him here while he wait for helen and asquel to wake up.

Then Niko fell asleep.

Then the scene went to Miami bay where the giants made their fortress, the buildings that were destroyed was used on building their fortress. They used some technology that would melt the Scattered rocks from the buildings and turn it into newly made concrete. And alot of Ships were lined up at the Coast of Miami.

Then The Giants that had red helmets gathered near the largest ship. Then the Ship's stairs began to come down, following the Giant that was over 30FT tall with a golden helmet. The Giants near the Ship began to bow down. Then they've explained to the Giant commander (With the Golden Helmet) that the other Troops that were deployed hasn't arrived yet. Then the Commander walks towards the Ongoing fortress and then grabs his weapon.

Then started growling, the growl was so loud that it echoed throughout the sea. Then Other giants from different places that were having a hard time going to the Meeting zone suddenly ran towards where the growl came.

Thus the Commander raised his sword as their Conquer was undoubtedly successful. Then the other giants growled and started raising their weapons.

Then the giants scattered around the globe started to appear group by group. And after a few hours they were all gathered infront of the Commander.

And the Commander gave them orders for the Next mission they were planing. But one of the giants said that he encountered a Ender and was nearly killed by it and sank their ship to the Ocean.

Then the Commander asked the Giant where did he encounter him.

The giant was not capable of telling which direction they were heading and said he didn't knew because they were at the middle of the ocean.

Then the commander gave another order to all the giants listening to locate the ender that this giant encountered. And kill him as soon as possible, Or the ender will ruin their entire plan.

Then the Giants saluted and growled then started to move by groups.

Other giants went to search the Ender through land and the others through the sea.

Then the commander sat at his ship while thinking of a plan on how should they deal with this ender.

The commander was notified by their king that there were no enders remaining that is why they've gathered all their armies to invade this continent.

"But perhaps the King's words were false?" The commander thought deeply.

But after a few minutes he fell asleep, Snoring like crazy.

Then the scene went to Chloe sitting at the balcony where she was drinking coffee and enjoying the fresh air.

Joel then showed up and brought her some snacks to eat.

Then Chloe asked "Where is Jason? I thought he was with you?"

Joel then replied "He got stuck at the Computer Cafe, He said that at egypt they didn't get to have computer cafe's."

"Oh he's right we didn't have one of those. That's why most of the people there wanted to go on an adventure." Chloe replied.

"Hehe, I guess it depends on the person's hobby right?" Joel said while smiling.

"Yeah your right, by the way it seems this country is peaceful. Suspiciously peaceful, You know what i mean?" Chloe asked while having a serious face.

Joel tried to look away but he couldn't resist and told Chloe the truth.

About the Enders like him scattered around the Philippines that's why the Giants couldn't conquer this land. Because they are afraid of the Ender's abilities that can surely harm them.

And that there are more than just 1 ender here. Most of the Enders around the world gathered on this country to practice more about their abilities and to befriend other enders.

Then Chloe listened carefully about what Joel was talking about.

As time passed by it was already almost evening, when they noticed the sun was already setting.

But Jason was still nowhere to be found. And then Chloe said to Joel that he would go to the computer cafe and pick up jason before he gets addicted and not go home anymore.

Then Joel laughs and nodded.

Then chloe left the house and Joel prepared some food for them to eat when they got back home.

Before Chloe went to the Computer cafe she explored the nearby places on the way. She saw alot of Street vendors selling food. then she saw alot of people relaxing at the bays near the vendors. She smiled remembering when she was young and also niko, they used to relax at top of the trees that they would feel that the air on that tree would be much better.

When Chloe reached the computer cafe Jason was already gone. then she receives a phone call from joel telling her that jason's already home. Then Chloe looked at the beach near where she was and remembered Captain zeck was still at the coast. then she hid her phone at her back pocket and rushed towards the sea shore. Then she saw the Ship that the captain owned, and Visited him.

They ended meeting at the Ship's lobby and had a 30 minute conversation. After they talked, Chloe then says her goodbyes as she walked towards the stairs of the ship. Captain then bids his farewell to chloe and smiled as chloe walks away.

Chloe then went back to Joel's house and sees joel and jason at the dining area, and they ate after having a short conversation.

The japan's digging operation was still on going while the the other president's of every country held a meeting on how they would divide the authority of this underground city.

Japan's President "Kenshin watanabe" protested that he would be offering 75% of the underground's territory for he is the one that had built this, then the other presidents agreed and left the 25% to kenshin while they negotiate on dividing the 75% that remained.

Kenshin then starts to stand then excused himself for he needs to get some fresh air, and the president of U.S followed him as he also wanted to get some fresh air.

they went towards the hall's balcony as they sat on the chairs, and kenshin lits a cigar as he looked at zack and said "Why did you follow me? Aren't you guys negotiating on who will have the other portions of the city?"

Zack then smiles and replied "I am not interested in that kind of matter, I am simply gonna sit down and have a relaxing life with my family for a while."

Kenshin then giggles as he hears zack's reply.

Then the secretary of kenshin gave them coffees to drink. Then they had a conversation with just the two of them.

The giants who were lurking the continents that was sent to hunt down the ender ravaged the lands that they had passed by. People that had successfully hidden themselves after the giants came out from the ground were hiding in the forests. One of the survivors from england gathered the other survivors and led them to some secret place.

It was a well that was built to be a secret underground base from the previous wars that had happened.

He then tells his thoughts about what's happening now and what'll he do so on, then the other survivors listened to him.

Then after the leader explained they then all nodded and went outside one by one quietly.

The leader known as "Josh samon" checked the time and saw it was night time already then they executed their plan on getting resources from the stores that collapsed during the giant's havoc.

Josh then orders the others to pass through the forest at the left side as he will be heading through the right side and search for giants.

he thought that the giants would not move at night time or so, but when he reached at the end of the forest he saw three giants lurking at the city of england.

he then rushed towards the survivors he had sent to gather resources but when he reached the place it was already too late.

The other survivors were ambushed by the 10ft giants that were lurking around. they didn't notice the giants as it could hide behind the collapsed rocks due to his height unlike the others that were 20Ft tall that could always be seen wherever they went.

Josh then hides by the tree and looks for remaining survivors as the giants rip the body parts of one of the people.

The person was screaming so hard begging for help while the giant smiled and ripped his body parts piece by piece.

Josh then wanted to vomit as he saw blood poured out like rain shower at the victim's body.

He then looks around if there were still survivors, then he saw a chubby girl that was crying at the back of a car.

he remembered that she was with them at the underground base when he briefed them with their operation. then he held a rock and threw it at the girl by the time that the giant was stomping on the heads of the remains of the deceased. So that the giant wouldn't hear the sound of the rock being thrown. The girl notices that josh was at the tree and was waving at her to follow him.

But the girl was in fear that she yelled "Leader!" unconsciously and got the attention of the giant.

Then the giant turned at the direction of the girl's voice then started walking towards it.

Josh then hides at the tree not wanting to get noticed, as he fear that he would also get killed.

The girl then screams as she saw that the leader hid himself. "Leader! It's me shaira! Please help me! I'm too scared to move!"

Josh didn't give in and just hid himself sweating like crazy.

The girl named shaira kept on screaming as the giant walked up to his way to grab her.

then the girl looks down and sees the giant's shadow infront of her then she slowly turns around and saw the giant's face smiling at her. the giant then grabs her while she screams for help.

but josh didn't take notice on it as he walks slowly towards deep in the forest. as he walked quietly he heard shaira's scream like she was gonna get tortured. then alot of crack sounds was heard by josh until he could not hear the girl's voice anymore. all he could hear was the blood splashing that were caused by stomping on someone's body.

then after getting further deep in the forest he ran as fast as he can sweating so much that he couldn't think about anything than just how to survive.

Josh then got to the secret base and hid himself there as he was trembling in fear that the giants might also find him and kill him.

Josh started crying as he whispered quietly

"Fuck, I'm gonna die like all of them if i get out of this place. But I'll also die from starvation if i hid myself here. Fuck what should I do!?" as he started shaking in so much fear.

Then he hears aloud bang from outside..
