A Secret to be Kept

The next day, the girls had a day off. Sia told them everything.

"Don't worry. Mr. Daniel will handle it.", said Lisa.

"Let's hope."

"He has a great PR team. You remember, the last time.", confronted Nat.

She rubbed her face, she was very tense. Soon, she got a call from Daniel, asking her to come to his apartment for an urgent matter. He further said that he had sent a car to pick her up. She got ready. She wore a blue full-sleeved T-shirt and black jeans. She also wore a black coat and black sneakers. She made her beautiful silky hair into a braid. She received a call from the driver, saying that he was outside her hotel. She went downstairs and got into the car.

Soon, the driver took her to her destination, Daniel's house. When she entered, Daniel was reading something. He wore a white shirt and blue jeans. He stopped looking at the book and focussed on her.

"Good afternoon, Sia. How are you?"

He said in a very cheerful tone.

"Fine."

Sia said in a very dull voice.

"I wanted to discuss something important with you."

"Yes?"

"But sit down first. I'll bring you something to eat."

"No, I'm okay."

"Just be angry at people, Sia, not food."

Soon, a man brought coffee along with some pastries and biscuits for them. Daniel put some on a plate and tossed it toward her.

"Why did you call me here urgently?"

"First eat, then I'll tell you."

She started eating hastily, not realizing that she had some cream on her face. Daniel smiled, sat beside her, and wiped it with his fingers, making her uneasy. When she was done eating, she said:

"Now, tell me, what is the matter?"

"Listen to me carefully."

"What?"

"I tried to dig for information about the stalker but could not find any. We don't know if it is a single person or a whole group. I used my connections to solve the matter but it became worse. The stalker came to know that and messaged me that he would now put all those photos on social media."

"WHAT!?"

He put forward his mobile phone which read:

"Ya dare! Now, you and that woman are over."

Sia was in shock. She could not move an inch. Daniel looked at her expression and held her hand.

"I have an idea to cover things up."

Sia started looking at him.

"What?"

"Let's get married."

She could not believe her ears. She became a statue at this point. Getting married? With him? No chance. She possessed a very beautiful destiny, a destiny every woman dreamt of, having to be Daniel's wife. But, this wasn't the right time.

"Are you kidding?"

She got up from the sofa and said loudly. Daniel was expecting this type of reaction from her. He stood up and explained to her:

"See, we would have a plus point. If we get married, even if the stalker put those pictures on social media, the public would, in turn, blame him for targeting our personal space. Think about it."

"But, I don't wanna get married."

"Why? Because you don't love me?"

"No, it's not like that."

"Sia! I know this isn't the perfect moment to propose to you. I had thought of a more romantic setting to tell you my sincere feelings but we have no time."

He held her hand once again and said lovingly:

"I promise you that I will love and take care of you for the rest of my life. I had developed feelings for you the first time we encountered and I had decided then that you are the one I want in life."

Sia was listening to him in a worried manner. She calmed down and analyzed the whole situation. She realized that he was right. They had no other choice. She was in her thoughts when Daniel shook her.

"What happened?"

"Nothing."

"So, what do you think?"

"Okay."

Daniel was confused. Did she accept or reject his proposal? She was quite an unpredictable lady.

"I didn't understand."

"I said okay, let's get married."

He became surprised and happy at the same time. He asked her to wait for him. He went upstairs to change his clothes. He came downstairs in a very charming aura. She was mesmerized.

"Let's go."

"Where?", asked Sia.

"To the church."

"What?"

"Yeah! I don't want to waste a single minute. We don't know when that stalker would post those pictures. It's better to do this now."

She nodded. He called his bodyguard, Rudolf, and asked him to arrange his car. He asked her to wait for the car. When he got a call that the car was at the front gate, he held her hand and took her outside. Both of them got in the car. The car went towards its destination. Soon, they reached a beautiful church. They got out and went inside. The priest was ready as if he already knew they were coming. He smiled while looking at the young couple. Both of them greeted him. Then, he started the ritual. All the time, Sia was in a state of shock.

"Please exchange wedding rings."

She paid no heed to them. Seeing her worried expression, Daniel put his hand in his pocket and took out a black velvet box. He opened it and took out the couple's rings. Sia's ring was made of platinum with a diamond in the middle. Daniel's ring was also made of platinum. The only difference was that his ring had no diamond. He took out Sia's ring and lovingly put it on her ring finger. She pulled her hand in confusion. Next, Daniel gave her his ring and she put it on his finger in a hurry. They both then faced the priest. The priest continued.

"I declare you both husband and wife from now on."

Daniel smiled while Sia was in a state of shock. She has now become Mrs. Daniel. She would have been the happiest woman in the world if things were not like that. Daniel slowly bent towards Sia till there was only an inch gap between their faces. Sia realized what Daniel was about to do and bend her head in the opposite direction. Daniel smiled and kissed her on the cheek. She became surprised. He liked teasing her like that.

When the wedding was over, he asked Sia to take a picture with the wedding rings so that they can reveal them in case the other photos would be posted. She pretended to smile and took photos with him unwillingly. As soon as they got in the car, Rudolf congratulated them. Daniel accepted with a smile and the car started. Sia was continuously looking outside while pondering over her fate. She had become someone's wife overnight and that too, without letting her parents know. Daniel realized her confusion and rested his palm over hers that she had put in her lap. She shrugged.

"What are you doing?"

She asked in anger.

"Stay at my house. We're a married couple now. "

This shocked her.

"No."

Her answer was immediate that shocked him.

"I mean we are married here and I didn't get time to tell my parents."

"So?", he raised a brow.

"Let's just keep it a secret until we go back and I tell my parents."

"As you wish."

He did not like the idea but had to retreat. He ordered the driver to take them to her hotel. He kept on holding her hand for the rest of the journey, making her uneasy. As they reached the gate, the car stopped and both of them got out of the car. She tried to go inside in a hurry. He held her hand and stopped her from going.

"Wait!"

"What!?"

"Won't you say goodbye to your new husband?"

He said jokingly.

"Goodbye. Now, leave my hand."

"Goodbye, wifey."

He left her hand

"What a pervert!", she thought while going inside.

Daniel also went away. She reached her hotel room and pretended to be as calm as she could but only she knew that her blood was boiling with anger. Lisa and Nat were preparing to go shopping.

"We were waiting for you.", said Lisa.

"Let's go shopping. Wait, is everything alright?", said Nat looking at her pale face.

"Everything is alright. I am just tired."

"What happened about that matter?", she investigated.

"It's settled."

"Okay then, would you accompany us for shopping?", asked her again.

"I don't think so. I am hella tired."

"Okay, so you go to sleep while we are going. You are missing a golden opportunity, baby.", added Lisa.

"I'd rather miss it."

She said with a smile. Both Lisa and Nat went outside whereas Sia changed her clothes and lay down on her bed staring at the ring on her ring finger.

"What would I tell mama and papa? Would they even understand?"

She kept on thinking about it before unintentionally going to sleep.
