A Practice Punching Bag

"Here we go!" Paul muttered while staring at the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law in apprehension.

"What grandchildren?" Ella asked mockingly. "Is it the ones you encouraged your son to abandon for another woman? Or is it the ones you and your despicable daughter almost beat out of me back at Islafub? What happened to the gold-digging wife who came to steal your family fortune?" Ella snarled.

"You must really have no shame at all to cough out those words. Maybe a brain resetting will help you discern who your grandchildren are. Because these babies in my womb..." Ella gently stroked her baby bumps. "...will never be your grandchildren."

"Ella!" Tears started flowing from Marissa's eyes.

"I will advise that you take that trash out of my house before tomorrow morning. Otherwise, I'll have given away or better still burnt." Ella hissed as she sat down and picked up her book.
