Allison, Tommy, and I were covered in meat juices, feasting joyfully without a care in the world. It was peaceful and serene, filled with our own thoughts of family and love, as we drank in each moment of our lives. It was all so amazing and wonderful and I couldn't help but feel joy and a sense of completeness, knowing that I'd been accepted into this great family that had accepted me. The bushes rustled, but not because of wind; it seemed like something was coming out of it - A hand, a human hand. The hand pulled the leaves back, and an arm came through. A long sleeve white sweater the color of snow, which can only mean that Ashford is coming through. He said nothing, he just stood there on the ground and watched us eat. Tommy was having second helpings; all he could think of was more meat, and as soon as he finished one of his hands would start scratching his head. He wasn't a man who was quick to accept change.
Ashford was looking from one to the other, "So you ate him? You... Why?" His face showed an expression of confusion and disappointment. He was a creature of habits, and Ashford was bound to know the difference between a man and a meat. "This doesn't make sense... No, no why? You-You ate him!? Why did you eat him!? You just made the situation worse!" Ashford started to hyperventilate, his anxiety and adrenaline levels were through the roof. "You ate him- What? Why? WHY!?" Ashford yelled, "Who thought of this? Which one of you thought this was a good idea?" He asked.
I should say something, I should take the blame right? I chopped the beast to pieces, only right to take the blame. "I did. I brought up the idea." I said. Allison had started to laugh, which seemed to relieve Tommy a little bit. Ashford seemed disgusted, horrified, and furious, and annoyed.
"You trusted him? With how he looks now you trusted him?" Ashford preached.
"Ashford, what else were we supposed to do? Let it live? It would go back to the others and snitch." Allison calmly stated.
"You're all crazy!" Ashford pointed at me, "He's literally wearing human skin as a cloak!" Oh right, I did still have that on. Huh, how did I forget? He's right though, why the hell would I want to go and continue my miserable existence in this thing?
Tommy and Allison looked at each other, then at Ashford, and then at me, "We didn't know that was human flesh." Allison stated.
"Look at it! What else would it be?" Ashford screamed. "You trusted someone wearing someone else? You should've have waited for me to come back! There was probably another solution to this."
I felt like I was floating, and as if I was going down a slide. It felt as if I was suspended in the air and it was slowly lifting me off the ground, and all of my muscles tensed up. It felt as if I was on a roller coaster, as I started to feel scared. I'd seen the ride on a couple of times and I just knew that that was how it was going to feel like. Allison, Tommy, and I were sitting in front of the gates, and they were opening. I was starting to fall. The adrenaline was everlasting, it was making me feel this strange sensation; fear. I looked at the ground, but as the metal slides touched the grass I felt like my body began to speed up. It was like I was in an elevator; an elevator on fire. I looked at Allison, Tommy, and Ashford, and as I looked at them I couldn't believe what I was seeing, the gates opened wide and a massive crowd of people was pouring in. They were people of all ages, it wasn't like a club that only allowed teenagers.
The doors closed, and as the gates closed, it was like the doors on an elevator that was going too fast. As they closed the metal slid in front of us. This was the slide. I was looking around to see who I could get hold of, even if it was a little kid, because I didn't want to die. I heard a scream, and all I could see was a huge body of flesh and blood. I got up off my knees and ran straight up to the body. I fell to my knees right on top of it and as I put my hands in its pockets I heard a scream come from its mouth, and it got louder and louder, and louder.
"No, no!" I screamed out. I heard a bunch of noise and I looked up, and the whole slide of people I had been on was going down the hill. I thought to myself, how was this possible? What was going on, and why were all these people doing this? Why were they going down the slide? I looked behind me, "What the hell?"
"Come on, Ashford. You've got to trust me. He's wearing human skin. We can't let him live."
Allison pleaded, "Please."
"Get up, you idiot. You can't just sit here!" Ashford shook my shoulders, and I was back in the forest. What just happened? Why?
What was I seeing?
