Title: Epic of Baby Bat General Against Earth
Concept: Reverse isekai, bats, earth, survival
Character: Bastian great war general of Batstonia
Plot outline:
Bastian awakes to find himself in an unknown terrible, stench filled land instead of his luxuriously home in Batstonia with his wife. To make matters worse, not only are his weapons missing but his body doesn't even seem to be his own! Can the great bat general really survive in such a state when in a foreign land filled with world destroyer creatures that were supposed to only exist in horror stories?
Draft:
"Mm, it's too early in the morning for that." Bastian murmured. The general pulled back when something whispy and thin brushed his cheek tickling him.
How odd, his wife was never usually this affection first thing in the morning. I guess it couldn't hurt to take advantage of it…
"You can't blame me though if you come to regret this later." Bastian sported a coy smirk, pulled her closer to engage. His winged arms wrapping around what felt like was her waste.
The ground under him shifted unexpectedly. Squisher than he previously remembered. Must've been the new bed setup they were trying out.
"Squeak!" The general's lips twitched with amusement.
"Oh? Playing a different kind of game today are we?" Role reversal could be fun. Though, Bastian always liked to think of himself as the more silent one.
"Care to tell me what you want again?" Pulling the other closer once more, breathing in her scent.
Instead of maple brushed flowers and apple orchids, the scent that wafted into his nose was more akin someone who'd rolled in the world's worst smells.
What in bat's blue name?
He never remembered his wife smelling that bad before.
"Honey, did something happen?" Bastian asked with caution, peeking one eye open cautiously. Uncertain of what he might have to face.
Long nose twitching nose, whiskers and beady little eyes stared back at the bat general. Definitely not the goddess face his wife.
It didn't take a genius to notice he was no longer in his beautiful house either. If the smell didn't give it away, the look certainly did.
The place looked like something akin to the bog of eternal stench and the wasteland of horror. Nothing pleasant for the eyes to rest upon for miles.
The 'squishy bedding' looked like a puddle of something sticky, greenish-blue decomposed under the bat general.
With an alarmed cry, Bastian used his wings to untangle himself, from the other creature who gave its own noise of indignation mixed with anger. The overly furry creature rose up to bare its teeth at the general.
Bastian, the might general unafraid of anything prepared to engage the creature only to realize his trusted mace was missing.
In fact – all of his gear had vanished!
Bastian gritted his teeth, quickly realizing the tactical disadvantage this placed in him.
The general certainly could do hand-to-hand combat but the odds wouldn't be in his favor facing a unknown enemy in their unfamiliar terrain.
There was no choice but to retreat!
The disgusting furry creature could enjoy its victory for now. Bastian would be back soon enough to kill it.
With a swoosh, the bat general flew up quickly, unable to propelling himself out of the stench wasteland quickly enough.
Once in the air, Bastian knew the next step would be to survey his surroundings. Find safety, discern his surroundings, and find his things.
Nothing would be able to keep the bat general down for long. He was one of the greatest heroes of his country after all.
Where to go first was the question?
Thack!
Bastian let out a pitiful squeak, hitting into an invisible wall upon trying to change direction.
Who knew invisible walls could hurt so much.
Disoriented, the general didn't get a chance to collect himself as he began to slip down the invisible wall, too lick to grip anything.
Wait.. how come he never remembered looked so small and fluffy before? No way could those have been his twiggy arms.
Unable to do anything else, Bastian could ponder upon his reflect and the quick downward descent.
Until jumbled bunch of pasty, scrunchy nose small faces barely visible on the other side caught his attention.
Humans? Weren't they just supposed to be myths? Horrible world destroyers that didn't exactly exist?
Those horrible pasty faces were the last thing Bastian saw before darkness claimed him.
