Ting! Ting! Ting!

In a room sporting walls of varied colours, there were two people seated in the centre, a youth and a middle-aged woman.

The youth was somewhat distressed, feeling his eyelids twitch every time he heard the tingling sound from the middle-aged woman.

"Your worries are only temporary, peace is eternal." The middle-aged woman said. The plaque on the table beside her stated, 'Country's Best Psychologist.'

"I feel depressed every time I think of my future, Aunt Twirl." The youth said, expressing his worries, "I'm barely making twice the minimum wage. This girl that I'm seeing hails from a well-to-do family. I don't have the confidence to keep her happy with my meagre earnings."

"Love, happiness, or even frustrations never stem from materialistic desires." Aunt Twirl said, hitting a spoon on a cup's rim – one that was filled to the brim with water. Her action produced a clear but soft sound, one that caused the youth's eyes to become heavy.

"Then…what should I do?" The youth asked, "I've never told my girlfriend about my earnings. She thinks I earn a lot."

"The problem stems from one fact…" Aunt Twirl made eye contact, "Your girlfriend has her head wrapped up in the clouds."

Her voice strangely turned hypnotic, "Bring her to reality."

"You mean…" The youth's eyes widened as he felt enlightened.

At the same time, Aunt Twirl slipped a sheet of paper in his hand, "Whenever you feel tense, chant this verse. It will help calm you down. Once you memorise it, dissolve the paper in a cup and destroy it."

The youth unfurled the paper, staring at the line written on it, his eyes widening further.

[A capitalistic society causes chaos. The true key to a successful life is to have minimalistic needs.]

"But, what if she asks for more?" He asked, expressing his doubt.

"When people are confused, you must teach them the truth." Aunt Twirl said calmly, "Sometimes through speech, sometimes through coercion, and sometimes through force when necessary."

"Speech, coercion, and sometimes…force?" The youth muttered in a daze, "I see, the next time my girlfriend asks me to buy an expensive doll, I can talk her out of it, coerce her to buy something cheaper and if everything fails…"

"You can take the help of peaceful objects." Aunt Twirl smiled, staring at a chart that showed household items like knives, hockey sticks, etc. tools that could result in murder.

"Thank you," The youth shook hands with her, "I feel somewhat better now."

"Don't forget to visit once every three days. We'll have music therapy to help calm your nerves next." Aunt Twirl smiled, watching the youth leave, muttering once she was alone, "And, another believer for the cause."

"Eventually, there would be enough of us to destroy this country from within." Her lips curled up into a smile as she switched on the FM Radio and heard the daily news, one that talked about the increase in domestic violence throughout the city.
