Aesther woke up feeling light and refreshed.
Her eyes opened to the dull sunlight seeping through her glass windows and falling over her fingers. The morning was colder than the night she remembered, and her mind was truly calm after a long time.
"Ah… why would I faint?" Aesther mused as she rubbed her eyes.
〔 You are too weak for us. 〕
A dark creature of formless smoke and shadows rose above her stomach. In the light of the day, its darkness was more apparent. It was unstable and wavering, splattered with particles of white energy.
One of the glowing white eyes was cracked with fractures. This time, its mouth was spread into a thin smile.
"W-Woah!" Aesther hastily fumbled out of her quilt, "What the hell are you?!"
The memories of her painful night washed over her ease and stirred the forgotten fears in her heart once again. But before she could try to get away, the shadow inside of her forced her back down on the bed.
