The Tender Insanity

In the darkness of his palace.

Aesther remained a prison for so long that she lost track of time, or perhaps it was the wine that she craved to drown herself into. She was allowed to only have one meal each day.

She wisely picked her poison.

Hoping for death each day.

By this time, Aesther had learned to resist Ezrahl's sight all too much. It could save her, but he was too unpredictable. Always deceiving everyone.

However, one night, Aesther was visited by Irene.

She neither looked her meek gentle self, nor did she appear as cold as she did when she had threatened Aesther. But why was she spared?

"I am a dragon."

Irene said dryly when they first met inside that prison.

Aesther did not ask further, she did not care about Irene. But as days passed by, Irene often visited her. Sometimes, she would tell her about the world outside; the chaos and peace spreading into a new era.
