The true form of a vampire

"Why isn't anything happening? There should be a reaction or something!!" One of the werewolves shouted on the account of seeing the vampire king outside with them where the sun's rays beamed on them.

They were standing in the stream created by the glistening waterfall. Green trees growing up and seemingly reaching the heavens surrounded the river bank. The air around was fresh and constant. Sounds of other forms of life could be heard in the far distance as the sun shone on the land. The view outside the vampire nest in a single word could be described as a "paradise".

"Like I said earlier, uncultured fools. You should know by now that vampires have class to them just as werewolves do. Do you really think a vampire prime like me will have trouble in the sun!!!. I'll let you all in on another secret. The sun isn't our weakness. The sun is our enemy. And I'll show you why...." The king who introduced himself to be Shola said.

He spread his arms apart and raised his head to face the sun with his eyes closed. A groan escaped his mouth followed by a slight smirk widening his chubby cheeks.

The king looked away from the sun and was now facing the werewolves. But something had changed about him. His dark eyes were now blood rest.

More groans escaped his mouth as he stood still on the spot with a clenched fist.

"Argh!!" The king suddenly let out a loud cry. His blood-red eyes slowly began to leak some of their colours to his face. It appeared that the veins on his face were now visible. Especially the one that traced from his eye down to his cheek and then branched into two with one heading towards his ear and the other going towards his mouth. His mouth pushed outwards and soon began to take the shape of a snout. His teeth were barely able to fit into his mouth completely at this stage. The veins continued to push themselves along the border of his jaw until they made their way to his neck and down to his chest area.

But one thing was peculiar about these veins. They were all glowing red underneath his skin just like his eyes.

The next thing that happened was his hands that began to grow large. Ordinarily, with his size, his arms could be said to be abnormally large in the first place. But now it kept on bulging out with muscles and more red veins appearing by the second.

His legs didn't go unaffected though. Much like the arms, they too began to enlarge and pulse with red glowing veins.

His claws now were longer than his actual fingers. But what shocked the werewolves who watched the transformation occur was the last thing that formed out of the king.

"You don't say..." with widened golden-brown eyes, the omega leading the pack said out of astonishment while looking at what he could only describe as a monster.

What could be described as curved spikes began to pop out one after the other from the king's arms all the way to his elbow. The spikes were as long as his elbow themselves were and were bent in a spiral shape with the tip of the spikes facing downwards.

In total, on each forearm, the king had five black spikes shooting out from it. The spikes tore his pale white flesh to come out but oddly, the king hadn't bled for a second neither did he flinch in pain. He was simply unfazed by all the gruesome transformation that was occurring.

The black spikes just like every other visible part of his body had red glowing streams in it that pulsated at intervals. His pale skin soon began to shift in texture. Before long, it had turned into a greenish-grey scale opposing his eye colour and veins which continued to glow red.

"Our weakness isn't the sun. Our weakness is the fear of looking hideous like you bunch!" The king declared, wording his sentences to a great deal just like the wolves even with the speech limitation posed by the shape of their mouths.

And then just like that, he moved from the spot without being seen and in the next instant, a loud groan was heard.

The water they stood in splashed around as a beta wolf was tossed into the air and landed hard. The omega and his pack of four beta wolves stood still. It had happened in the blink of an eye that even they didn't quite follow the king's movement.

All they saw now was a pack member slowly reverting to a human-like form with a huge hole in his chest.

"How?..." the omega wolf mouthed in surprise. But in that instant, right in front of him, the black spikes with red glowing lines on the king's arms shot out like an arrow and went through two beta wolves beside him.

*Arggh!!*

The wolves growled in agony. They weren't quick to die like the other one since the spikes hadn't been able to penetrate through to the other side of their bodies.

But perhaps it wasn't the king's idea to penetrate them through both sides in the first place. All the king did was stand with an emotionless face and looking at the wolves with the spikes stuck in them, his eyes began to glow fiercer than before and all the red veins in his body shined brighter as well.

His enormous size was now triple what he looked like in his normal state. His pale skin colour even looked paler than it did prior to his transformation.

The wolves were large and scary in their own right with huge teeth and long claws. But the king made them look completely harmless with his new look. A simple way to describe him now would be "Reptile dog" due to the texture of his skin and the shape of his mouth.

With a slight hand gesture, the wolves with the spikes stuck in them yelled out in pain.

Right now, red lines began to appear on their bodies just like the King. These lines were only visible in areas where they didn't have fur on them. But for places like their abdomen which was bare and muscular, the lines were out to be seen.

And as the red lines on the king glowed brighter, the lines on the two wolves glowed even fiercer. At that moment, the omega leading the pack could see the two wolves suffering in the hands of the king were reverting to their normal form. But it didn't seem to be on their own accord. Rather, they were shrinking and turning pale by the minute.

"Stop that monster!! He is going to kill them!"The omega yelled out orders. The remaining two betas by his side sprung into action heading for the king. One wolf jumped high into the air and with a swipe of his claws, he released three lines that were yellow and travelled straight to the king.

"Hmm, you now take this serious, it seems. Using your aura attacks, don't you know it's harmful to you? But I guess it doesn't matter anyway since you skipped all the basics about perhaps everything single thing you ought to know before coming here. No matter, you will be dead in a bit!" the king muttered to himself.

The yellow aura tore through the air causing slight distortions as it travelled. But with a wave of the king's hands, they had broken up into nothing. They had vanished completely leaving no trace behind.

As this happened, the vampires in the cave who had been told not to step into the light by the king all fell to their knees. And at once, their faces were scrunched up in pain. They all looked at each other and shook their heads as if they already had an idea of what was happening on the outside.

"What was that?!!" the omega muttered as he saw this happen. He hadn't gone on the attack yet as he stayed with the two betas who had the king's spikes stuck in them.

"Don't!!" one of the beta wolves who was stabbed with the king's spike said. They were still alive for the time being.

The omega with them was about to attempt to pull the spikes out. Due to his observations, the wounds the two betas had weren't healing for some reason and he thought pulling the spikes out might help the healing process.

"Don't pull it out if you want me to live," The beta wolf said to the omega. His eyes were seemingly fading in and out of their red colour.

"What?!"The omega questioned not fully understanding the beta.

"Yes, don't pull it out. These spikes aren't ordinary. They seem to be growing and attaching themselves to us. I can feel them channelling through my veins. I...I can hear him in my head. My blood somehow is being drawn away as we speak. You can't win..." The beta said to the omega with the last bit of energy left in him.

As for the beta wolf who had made the yellow aura attack, his arms had been caught off and a deep slash could be seen wide open in his chest area. None of them had seen how it happened. The only known thing was that he fell out of the air with missing limbs and a deep wound in his chest.

"You think I care to conserve my powers?! I have them in abundance. I will make an example of all of you!" the king said and if one looked closely, his long clawed fingers were slowly dying down from being blue. It had changed colour the moment he had waved his hand in the air to stop the yellow aura attack. But now it was dying down bit by bit. Now with the yellow aura attack handled effortlessly, the king kicked off from the spot he stood inside the water splashing a large amount.

The second beta wolf ordered by the omega that ran ahead to attack him was set on a collision course with the king. Out of prediction that the vampire king would shoot out the spikes from his forearm again or perhaps use the oddly invincible attack, the beta wolf jumped to the side and covered his snout that housed rows of teeth to prevent a follow-up attack.

But in the long run, the king hadn't done any of the things the beta had thought would happen. Instead, in mid-motion, the king spun his body and a long tail which they had all failed to notice had been formed along with the spikes on the king's body front the onset sliced right through the beta's body leaving half his body lying around separated from the other half.

The fine blue crystal-coloured water didn't take long to be dyed into red.

*Raaaaa!!*

The omega roared and immediately fell to his knees. At this point, it looked like he was going to surrender. But that was not the case at all. The once golden brown eyes that signified a werewolf was at the omega level were swiftly changing colours along with some other things.

"I will let you be at your best. You deserve to at least strive to save your life. I'm not as merciless as your leader. Let's see what you can do in your berserker mode," the king thought within himself. The other two wolves that originally had Spikes stuck in them had shrunken down to their bones and were slowly turning black like ash.
