Dream Saw activated

[-1 dream point]

"This should do!!!"Finn said as the blue energy once again appeared in his hands. This time instead of forming a ball, it had formed a disc-like shape in his hand. But the edges of the disc-shaped energy in his hand weren't exactly smooth but rather had a jagged cutting to them.

Immediately this was formed, he let it slip from his hand and instantly, the disc-shaped energy began to spin with speed.

And on contact with the body of the Secra serpent that had him wrapped up, it ripped right through the serpent's body freeing him from the tight grip.

Once out, Finn rolled to the floor but with no waste of time, he yet again activated another dream energy ball. And this time, he didn't toss it straight to the monster as he did with the other one.

Instead, with one hand placed out in front of him, and the second hand raised above his head where the dream ball was firmly secured, he swung the ball of energy down while simultaneously starting another sequence of moves.

[-1 dream energy]

When the dream ball energy smashed onto the multicoloured stone paved way, it immediately scattered into particles of light. And as done before, the lights spread out from the source like a wave and began to clear out each one of the Secra serpents around him.

The blue light rays emitted when the dream ball bursts open would hit the dream shield from different angles. But even at the speeds they moved, it wasn't something Finn was unable to react to.

This technique was both cost-effective in terms of saving him more Dream energy as it had saved him time too. All together, lying around and decomposing around him were about ten Secra serpents.

"The dream saw isn't the most effective skill but it surely did its job of getting me out of that tight situation. Even more so, at least I have another skill added to my very short list of skills which is something that needs to be addressed soon. Overall, the other two skills tend to go hand in hand with one another, "Finn analyzed from the situation he had gotten out of.

"I couldn't be so sure the energy released from the sparkles wouldn't hurt me as well. Which was why I had to use the dream shield. Either way, there's more ahead so it would be best if I save it for where I'm truly headed. Although, thanks to the system, I have to make a little diversion now" Finn thought.

"You did well, master. But keep in mind that the more time you spend here, the lesser energy you have. And with how deep you keep going, I'm not sure there will be much energy left for you when you find what you seek after, "Tiwa, the dream bug said.

"That is expected. But until then, let me worry about my current situation, "Finn said with a frown on his face.

This was because as he took not more than four steps forward along the multicoloured stone paved way with blue mist at opposite sides, he noticed a change occurring that didn't quite sit right with him.

"The energy around here keeps getting dense the more I walk along this path. Those serpents, could it be that I'm closer to their source?"Finn thought.

"It could be, which to be frank isn't a good thing. It is one thing to kill five Secra serpents on your own. But in case you haven't observed, there was a change this time around. They were banded this time, unlike the last time when each one came after the death of another. What does this tell you?"Tiwa asked.

"Hmmph, that there's an underlying conspiracy against me even in this world,"

.....

..

" Now what I'm more curious about is just how they are formed. I mean, where do all these beasts come from? My mind certainly isn't responsible for conjuring them up. This isn't the nightmare zone so the blame can not be put on me. Apart from the cure to this poison, just what is at the source? I don't need a map to guide me to where I need to be. The energy is inviting me, "Finn said.

"Yes, you are right. These beasts are certainly not your doing. There's very little I can tell you. But just like most existence, in this world or the world you are from, certain things tend to make less meaning the more you try to make meaning of them. It is best to just focus on the task at hand. Remember, in this world, your presence has put a huge target on your back. There will be more of them and different kinds as well. Especially where you are headed, "Tiwa said and unlike before, oddly, there was silence. Not just on the outside, but Finn's mind was completely void of any thought as he moved along the stone-paved path.

When he looked up, what appeared to be the sky above him was like an Aurora. Not everything was bad in this area, he realized on taking in the silence that embodied the place.

The Dream World wasn't like the real world. Things worked differently and some might say way too different from the reality they knew.

For Finn, it was all just an endless void of unexpected twists and turns waiting for him to discover. And he was on a mission to achieve it all in a short time.

But of course, all these plans weren't going to go smoothly without a hitch. For the most part, he was aware of certain obstacles already that posed quite a monumental challenge.

*Bing!!!*

And just like that, the system notified him of his present condition. But this didn't need to be told as he could feel the change in his body. He was slowly but surely being affected by the serpent spike which he had pulled from his rib area.

The area in question had closed up from the wound but black veins ran around the place that had been affected and whenever he stopped and took a look, he realized it had extended and right now, the black veins travelled up to his pale neck.

Yet again, there were other obstacles that he didn't quite know existed but were slowly starting to reveal themselves.

After walking for a while, not knowing exactly how long it was because time worked differently in the dream world, he stopped in his tracks. Not because he had reached his destination, no, as a matter of fact, he wasn't near it yet.

Rather, he could sense yet another obstacle making its way towards him. And this time, not only his senses but the surroundings gave a warning signal.

"Old man Zephyr was always right. The world would turn the page just when you think you have started understanding it, "Finn said aloud as he watched something strange happen to his environment.
