CHAPTER NINETEEN

          'I should be the one asking you that, after all I followed you here and you are stronger than you look.' she said while massaging her shoulders. 'Why are you following me?'

   'Jason asked us to watch over you after what happened last night, we were supposed to do it quietly without you taking note of us but I had to stop you when I saw you running when nobody was chasing you and you were going straight into a forest that led nowhere.'

      'I felt someone watching me and felt threatened that's why I was running but it was probably you then.' I said. she looked around us before saying, 'Are you sure, is this what Jason was talking about. I don't think it was because of me because you wont have felt threatened by me, rather you will feel safe and secure since I had no intention of hurting you and I never would.'

          'Is that so, then whose gaze have I been feeling following me for the past few days and this feeling is only getting stronger and stronger.' 'I don't know who it is because we just started watching over you last night. But don't be scared dear, if someone is following you we will find the person soon.' she said while giving my arm a comforting hug. 'Let me escort you home.'

           When I got home, I entered the house to find my mum in the kitchen, I gave her a hug from behind trying to seek comfort. 'Hello there, how was your night and where are you coming from.' She asked me while she turned to give me a hug and a comforting kiss. 'Good morning mum, my night was fine and I went for an early morning walk.'

      'That's good, at least I don't have to drag you out of bed today. So how was your date yesterday.' she asked while looking at me. I blushed and hid my face in her arms like a kid. 'It was fun, he took me to the ocean for a picnic.'

         'I guess you had fun then since you are blushing very much. how about you invite him over this weekend so your dad and I can meet him.' 'Okay, I will ask him and tell you his answer.' My dad came down and we had breakfast before I went to school. 

             That morning our homeroom teacher introduced a new student to us, the moment he walked into the classroom I just knew he was like me. I could see the wolves in the class taking a deep breath and the look of disbelief in their eyes as they glanced between us. He was like the opposite version of me, where I was light, he was pure darkness. He had dark hair with red tint but unlike mine that looked like the colors blended together his had just a little red scattered across it. His eyes were as dark as night and he was tall, almost as tall as Jason with a classical superman stature. I could practically hear the girls in the class swoon as he introduced himself because of how beautiful his voice was. 'Hello, my name is Dillan Kye, nice to meet you.' The introduction was short but I could see the cupid bells flying around.

         The teacher directed him to sit at the back of the classroom and throughout the day, all anybody talked about was how hot Dillan was. Even Katie being her usual self gushed about him throughout lunch and I was tempted to gag her. The only thing I wanted to know about him was why he felt familiar to me but I did not know how to ask him. Because of Dillan, Katie and Jane did not pester me about my date the way I expected them to.

            After school, I caught a ride with Jessica because Jason went to a neighboring pack for alpha business. while driving on the road, something ran in front of our car and Jessica immediately matched the brake but we still felt the car hitting something. At first we were shocked since we did not understand the situation and then we got out of the car to check what we had hit hoping it was not dead. 

          But we could not find anything at the front of the car or under it but the front of the car had a dent like it had hit something, before we could understand what was happening, two huge guys practically appeared from thin air behind Jessica and me. We did not sense any presence behind us when all of a sudden they appeared, we instantly went into fighting mode, Jessica turned and tackled the one behind her and I did the same.

         While we were preoccupied with them, we could feel another presence appearing around us and saw as the men appeared from thin air like a horror movie and before we knew it we were surrounded. We had our backs facing each other, 'We just have to hold them off until the pack gets here, I already sent a warning.' Jessica told me. just when we started having a little bit of hope they attacked together and we were overwhelmed, they broke Jessica's arm and had her pinned to the ground with a weird bone like knife held towards her neck and my hands were held behind me while I knelt on the floor. Just when I thought I would die I saw Dillan appear out of thin air like they did in my front and attacked the ones holding me down. I could finally breathe but it seemed like their numbers increased.

          I started to panic while I tried to think of a solution but nothing was coming to me, one of our attackers lifted his knife to cut Jessica's throat and something in me just snapped as I screamed, time paused suddenly and everything started moving in slow motion and i could see  water coming out of the trees, ground, air and rushing at me. they looked like little bubbles but the numbers was astonishing, it came together and surrounded me like it was protecting me and I let out another scream and threw my hands out. The water moved with force hitting our attackers and freezing them solid. I looked up and saw  the eyes of my mate running towards me before I collapsed.
