THE YAKUZA FAMILY
The next day, on Saturday morning Hiro returned to the hospital to see Akira. Akira had woken up from his sleep and was reading the manga "Sasaki to Miyano".
"Hi, Hiro. You've come early in the morning. Isn't there any homework?" Akira said.
"I've done all my homework last night. It's Saturday, Akira. Mother frees me to do anything on Saturday. Earlier I said goodbye to her to come here. By the way, where is your mother? I brought food for her from my mother." Hiro looked around.
"Isn't there food for me? The food here isn't good. I don't like it. But thank you, Hiro. Mother is seeing a doctor. Anyway, you shouldn't have to bother bringing food for her anymore. My grandfather's employee always give her some food." Akira chuckled.
"If you want you can eat it with your mother. Oh yes. Speaking of your grandfather.."
"Why? Are you surprised by my grandfather? He is very handsome, isn't he?" Akira interrupted.
"Hehehe.. Yes. I admire him and fear him at the same time. Your grandfather has extraordinary charisma. He seems like a very powerful man." Hiro was embarrassed.
"That's right, Hiro. My grandfather was powerful and wealthy. He replaced my great-grandfather to take care of all the family business."
"Hmm.. What is your mother's family business? What is your grandfather's occupation?"
"My grandfather was a Yakuza, Hiro. i came from the Yakuza family. Surprise, right? " Akira said calmly.
Yoshikawa Hiro gaped and didn't know what to say. His eyes widened and his mouth fell open. He looked at Akira in amazement. He never thought that Akira came from the Yakuza family. No wonder the aura that Akira's grandfather emitted was like that. Hiro thought it was no wonder that he was in awe when he first saw him yesterday.
"Oh, God. What will happen to Kitaro Eiji, Akira? Will he die at your grandfather's hands? Will they kill him?"
"Hahaha.. Hiro! Nothing will happen to him. You don't have to worry. Grandfather promised us that he wouldn't touch Kitaro Eiji or his family. My grandfather left this matter to my mother. Trust me. My grandfather will keep his promise. Unless Kitaro wants to keep bullying me."
"No way, Akira. Now he must regret it. He was expelled from school. And his father punished him. He can't leave the house. He is currently taking care of a new school. His father threatened him that if he was caught bullying someone again he would suffer with the consequences. "
"Really?" for some reason Akira felt sorry for the boy.
"Yeah, right. He doesn't come to school anymore. His friends don't want to see him anymore either."
"I feel sorry for him."
"Why do you feel sorry for him? He has been mean to you. He has hurt you."
"I don't know. I just feel sorry for him."
"Fortunately you and your mother have good hearts. Otherwise, Kitaro Eiji's history is over."
"Shouldn't we as humans be like that, Hiro?"
"Yeah." Hiro nodded and scratched his non-itchy head.
"In the past, my mother didn't like that she was born into a Yakuza family. Because according to my mother they are cruel. They often perform Yubitsume rituals on their guilty members, that's by cutting off their pinkies. My mother is a loving person she doesn't like that. My grandparents raised my mother in the hard way . They educate my mother strictly. Why did my mother become like that when she was young, it was because of her dislike of my grandfather. She rebelled and was eventually kicked out of her house. My grandfather did not like my mother to hang out with Gaijin or foreigners. He thought my mother should maintain Japanese manners and culture Mother didn't like it. Then she got pregnant with my father. My father was a Gaijin. And my grandfather kicked her out. That's how it is."
"Yeah. I know a little about your mother's story from my mother. She told my mother about it but not the Yakuza part. Then what about you? You're half Japanese right? Is that okay with your grandfather?"
"Not anymore. My grandfather regrets what he did. Missing my mother from home and never coming back to her house made my grandfather suffer, my mother said. My mother is the only child. That's why my grandfather asked us to move to Tokyo and my mother also wanted us to move there. My mother said she was afraid of losing me and she worried that something like this would happen again. Even though I told my mother that I would not die before I could make her happy."
"Don't you want to move out of here?"
"I will follow my mother wherever she goes, Hiro. I think that wherever I am there will always be someone who hates me. But my mother said that at least Tokyo people know the Kaneshiro family. So my mother made sure no one would dare to touch me."
"Cool!! That's great! You won't be bullied there anymore. Promise me you'll come to Yokohama sometime okay? We'll still be friends, right?"
"Sure, Hiro. We'll still be friends. I promise to see you and your family here from time to time. You've been so kind to us. We're grateful to have known you and your family. You gave us a place to live. Otherwise I don't know what happened to our lives. You can also come to our house there if you're in Tokyo."
"Cool!! I'll definitely come, Akira. I want to see the Yakuza house!"
"Hahaha.... Looks like we won't be living with Grandfather. Because my mother has her own house from Grandfather. But if you want I will take you there. My grandfather will definitely accept you with pleasure. Hiro, I'm confused with my mother why she chose to live poor and not return to her prosperous family."
"I don't know Akira. I think your mother is just ashamed of her family because she feels guilty. That's why she doesn't want to go back to them. That's parents in all their subtleties. Too complicated, right?"
Akira nodded his head and he agreed with Hiro.
"Are you going to replace your grandfather someday? Become a Yakuza?" said Hiro.
"Hahaha... You're kidding me, Hiro! I can't be a Yakuza with the situation I'm in. Not suitable! My uncle or my cousin might take his place. Don't think too much about it. That's an adult's business." Akira laughed loudly.
They laughed. They were grateful that they are still teenagers and did not have complicated problems. And they didn't have to bother thinking about it.
Akira's mother came with a doctor who will examine Akira.
"Hi. Kaneshiro kun. Looks like you're getting better, huh?" said the doctor.
"Yes, doctor. I feel better now. Only my chest still hurts."
"Oh it's because some of your ribs are broken. It will take time to recover. As long as you're careful how you move it shouldn't be a problem. Just rest. Don't move too much."
"Okay, doctor. Thank you."
A week later Akira was allowed to be discharged from the hospital. But he still had to come to the hospital to have his ribs checked. The doctor gave him a referral letter to a hospital in Tokyo.
That day Akira and his mother were picked up by his grandfather to return home. Grandfather and Akira and his mother came to the Yoshikawa family's house. The Yoshikawa family accepted them happily. They talked and ate together. It was Akira and his mother's last day in Yokohama. They really enjoyed their company.
Before leaving Akira's grandfather suddenly kneeled in front of the Yoshikawa family. Followed by Akira and his mother. They knelt in reverence to the Yoshikawa family.
" Yoshikawa san. I, Kaneshiro Shinobu would like to thank you and your family for helping and caring for my daughter, Ayumi and my grandson Akira. I cannot possibly repay all your kindness. I will always ask the gods for your happiness and well-being. I will always ready to help in any difficulties you will face in the future."
Then the grandfather took Akira and his mother away from Yokohama to Tokyo.
