Page 2 A Book's Premise [2]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-all I could see or rather, filled my entire sight was;

Scenes,

and a decent amount of them.

The first few pictured an infant who slowly started to grow and learn.

The first time they started to walk,

The first time they talked,

The first time they wrote or read,

The first time they had to leave their family's side to...

go to kindergarten.

Well anyway, it continued until what seemed to be their current age... which was 16.

While I was able to see moments of my Author's life, it wasn't like ALL of them and for some reason, there would be skips of time and many things that I couldn't get since there was no context to understand...

Which I was happy with since it would be pretty creepy if you bumped into someone who suddenly started talking to you familiarly and knew things you never told to just anyone.

.

.

.

Finished with that, I noticed something had appeared;

a door.

It was plain white with a golden handle, yet somehow, I had this feeling it was expensive? It was like weight... or more like guilt would carry on with me if I ever did something wrong with it.

I still approached it but with thoughts of why this feeling or more like pressure was something the door emanated which I tried to shrug off.

But for some reason... I was never able to.

Every step I took,

every second that passed,

it felt much more heavier.

Unfortunately or fortunately enough, when I finally was near the door, all of it disappeared. And when I touched the handle, I finally realized why.

This would be my first time.

I don't mean it that way alright?!

I meant that it would be the first time I would leave the library, to be by myself, but what would be the most important thing would be...

the Author I would be guiding or to put it in a better way,

the life I would be responsible with.

.

There was this one time I asked Mother if there would be any consequences if our Author died or was in a miserable situation...

Do you want to know what She said?

"None."

In fact, Mother would always support what we Editors do no matter what.

But the point here is; None!

No consequences whatsoever!

I know that Editors are "higher than the good and bad" or "cannot be tied to such laws made by people who we guide" but still, that doesn't change the fact I have morals. If I had to pick where I was in, I would consider myself to be in the good aspect of things.

.

Anyway, I gathered every bit of courage I had and was about to open the door but then-

"Leaving without even saying goodbye?" A soft feminine voice came that carried mysterious vibes from behind was heard.

Most would be freaked out if something suddenly happened and they had no idea about it.

But to me, Her voice brought great relief that eased the pressure that was on me. After all She was my;

"Mother" I softly said with a small smile appearing on my face.

"It indeed is Me, My Child." Mother replied while I started to look behind me while still holding the golden door handle.

'She really is here' I thought while seeing Her appearance.

Mother had long green hair and yellow eyes this time. Why did I say this time? Well sometimes, Her eyes would be purple, a light green, or right now, yellow. Other than that, She has a delicate face that radiated kindness and grace, a well developed figure and was sitting at 5'1.

For Her outfit, Mother was wearing a librarian outfit which consisted of a blue green skirt with tinges of black and flowers. For Her top, Mother had an orange-yellowish shirt with the sleeves reaching Her wrist. Finally, a green ribbon in the middle of the shirt.

"I didn't know You would come." I spoke still having a smile.

"Of course I would, as this will be your first time how could I, your Mother not see you off? It hurts Me to know that My Child would think that." Mother said masking a pained expression.

I chuckled knowing Mother was just trying to make me better which She already succeeded just by being here.

"Alright Mother, I get it" I said with a bigger smile which Mother responded with one of Her own as well.

"While seeing you off was one of the reasons, I have something to say as well" Mother said, and I just nodded while saying "Okay" leading Her to continue with Her words;

"You're frightened at the aspect of having to guide a life through better or worse right?" Mother said which made me feel... the weight once again.

Gripping the handle stronger and trying to say something by opening my mouth, Mother placed a finger in front of it signaling She wasn't done.

"It's normal to be so, but...

If you make a mistake in your part, fix it.

If something goes wrong, face it.

Like how Authors grow, so will you.

With Me no matter what, accepting the changes.

Just know that...

I'll always be watching you." Mother then gave me a hug after saying so.

I removed my grip on the handle and did the same as Her.

This went on for a few minutes until Mother moved back with a smile.

"Are you ready now?" Mother asked,

.

I nodded determinedly and faced the door once again and took hold of the handle

but this time,

ready.

"That's My Child, now go. I'll welcome you when you return." Mother said.

Looking back one more time, I see Her say so with a warm smile while feeling all of the pressure leave and having a smile once again on my face and saying;

"I'm leaving." Then opening the door and entering it.

.

And If I had another chance to look back from where I came from...

I would have seen the door start to change.

From a white- to a color black that was similar to the night I would start to see.

Not only that, In the middle I saw;

A Full Moon.
