Before they went on with the expenditure, they went over the plan with the newbies.

"You rookies will be here, between the weapon defense squad and squad support," The Captain said, showing them the plan out on the paper.

"You will run spear horse as well as relay signal, now remember, our plan is to try and avoid as many titans as possible, you can bet this bastard at the upper left flank and upper right flank will see a lot of pure titans" The Captain explained.

"Now once they spot a titan, they will fire their red smoke signal, to their close flank, and that flank will do the same to the other flank, and so until Commander Erwin gets a read on their position then he fired the green smoke to the opposite direction, which all flanks are then to follow."

"Of course, we can't be safe because there are a lot of corners those titans will attack from, but still we can minimize the casualties, the black smoke is for spotting an abnormal, once those appear, they tend to ignore small fires like us and are hungry for large group, which puts the center flank in danger, and the blue is to indicate if a flank has been completely overwhelmed, that should summarize everything".

Eren and Ayato were placed in the center back flank, the safest position in the formation, although they didn't relay it to the squads.

A few weeks before the mission had started, the Levi squad had already gone beyond the wall to the forest to complete a task given to them by Elwin.

During the Expenditure

Armin was riding his horse to his position on the right flank, and Reiner was just one flank away from him, "This is it, never thought home sweet home would be so dangerous".

The mission has just started and they have started seeing titans, the left back flank where Sasha was attacked by a titan.

"Oh God, okay okay, just fire the flare", She panicked as she struggled to insert the flare into the gun.

The squad leader of the flank fired the red flare from the back, "Rose, what are you doing?" He asked.

"I'm sorry" Sasha cried out, riding as fast as she could away from the titan.

"Damn it, siess, we gotta take this one, we can't let this bastard get to the rookies," The leader said, as he rode his horse after the titan.

"Okay, let's do it," Siess said.

"I'll take the leg, you go for the nape"

"Ready when you are"

The leader stood on his horse, waiting to get close enough to the titan, before hooking his Odm gear on the titan and slicing the back of its foot off.

The titan fell to the ground, couldn't stand up due to its injured leg, "Now siess!" The commander yelled.

Siess sliced the nape of the titan before going back to his mhorse.

"Woooo! That was something" The leader yelled in excitement.

They suddenly spotted another titan heading towards them.

"There is another titan coming," Siess reported.

"Dammit, what did we do to get two abnormals in one go?" He groaned, "Okay you keep going," He said to Sasha.

"Hai" She rode off.

"Okay let's go"

"This is strange, we haven't received any signals from the other flanks in a while, did they all get wiped out? " He thought to himself.

"An abnormal, and it's fast" One of the scouts yelled.

"Tch, it's coming our way, what are the right flanks doing, okay let's take care of it" Ness the leader of the middle flanks said.

Out of nowhere, the female titan charged even faster, kicking the scouts away, almost in an instant before moving back to her running.

Armin in shock saw the way she squashed them like bugs, "Did that just happen? No way? It has intelligence" He began to run, but even his horse couldn't beat its speed.

With one foot from the titan, the horse and Armin when launching into the sky and crashing to the ground, when he fell, his face got covered with his hood.

The female titan went on her knees to have a look at who was under the hood.

"Oh no, it's going to kill me, am I? Am I going to die?" Armin panicked

It opened the hood over Armin's face, it didn't give it a second thought before it began to walk away and charged towards the right upper flank.

Jean and Reiner came to his rescue with thier horses and brought Armin's horse with them.

"Are you okay?" Jean asked, firing the black flare to the sky.

"Yeah, I'm fine, it didn't kill me, it's just like Eren, it formed out of nothing, it's human," Armin said, chasing after it on his horse.

"How sure are you?" Reiner questioned.

"I saw it kill the scouts, titans don't intend to kill, the focus on their instinct, which is to eat, but she, she just killed those soldiers in cold blood," Armin said

"So, it's a she now? Gotta say for a titan that's some nice ass" Reiner said.

"Look whatever the case may be, the fact remains she didn't kill me, that must mean she's looking for someone, in particular, maybe Eren or Ayato," Armin said, cleaning the blood on his lips.

"Then we stop it here before it gets to the upper left rank where they are," Jean said

Reiner paused, "We were told that they were at the upper right flank," Reiner said, feeling confused.

"That doesn't matter now, we have to stop it from reaching the upper flank, here. Put your hoods on, she won't kill you without being certain" Armin said, while putting his hood over his head.

"Nice plan"

"I always pictured you are the follow Eren to death kinda guy, who knew you were such a smart ass, Okay then, let's roll," Jean yelled.

The female titan started to slow down Which Armin noticed. Once they had gotten close to the titan, Jean launched himself with the aim of striking its nape.

But the female titan, stopped running, using her hand to cover her nape, as she stared at Jean who was still in the air, "She covered it, there's nothing left to attack, shit, shit, shit" He struggled to change position while in midair.

"This is so not good"

The female titan gave out a loud roar.
