*FLASHBACK(before the mission)*
"I take back my statement, there might be a middle ground," Levi said as he sketched a titan's body on the board.
"What do you mean?" Ayato asked, standing in front of Levi and Eren standing on the opposite.
"If you guys happen to go rogue when you go titan, there might be a way we can calm the situation without killing you", Levi was about to continue his explanation but got interrupted by Ayato.
"You mean by serving the titan's body part making it completely immotile" Ayato uttered.
Levi had a surprised look on his face, "You are smart, awesome, now shut up and listen"
"Yes we can go on by cutting off all the titan's parts, depending on how skilled the soldier is, there should be no problem.
But the problem is, it might end up cutting your limbs in the process, so we are going to go with the fact that they'll grow back" Levi explained.
"Now, hold on a minute, we don't know if they'll grow back, we. Uh. Might just not have to do it…I mean" Eren stammered as he noticed the change in Levi's expression.
"I get it now, you are only willing to go on with it if there's no risk involved, get your head in the game Eren" Levi walked away from the class tossing the chalk on Eren's forehead.
"Okay boys, now that that's done, it's time we test that ability of yours" Hange, with a big scary smile on her face, sat on the desk with her jaw resting on her hands for support.
Hange already had a well-dug-up hole for the occasion.
When they got outside, she placed Eren in the well. She knew that if Eren was to lose control after transforming the well would be able to slow him down.
"We only have one hole tho seems you guys will have to take turns," Hange said, looking at Ayato.
"No need, I'll take care of him" Ava walked in, dragging Ayato by the collar.
They arrived at an empty ground that was surrounded by trees and a perfect place to use ODM gear.
"Okay, Ayato, go wild" Ava yelled, she stood on the branch of a tree, holding her ODM gear in case of any sudden surprises.
"Be careful, okay," Mikasa said, standing on a lower branch of a tree, Levi sent her as a backup for Ava.
He knew exactly why he was there and needed no further explanation.
Ayato sighed, "Okay then, here we go '' He stabbed himself in the hand using the pocket knife he had with him.
In almost an instant, Ayato's body was swathed in lightning, before his titan appeared.
Ayato laughed as he opened his eyes and found himself surrounded by chunks of meat, "I did it, this is awesome, I've never transformed without losing control before" He could help but feel excited.
"Hey! Ayato can you hear me?" Mikasa asked, she pulled out her blade, ready to strike if things went south.
Ayato turned to her, noting his titan head in response to her.
Mikasa gave out a sigh of relief, "Thank goodness".
"Can you move?" Ava asked.
"Let's see" Ayato took one step and his titan went crashing to the ground, "What the?"
Ayato's titan leg didn't form very well, so after one step it lost its form and became light with no weight to carry the body.
Ayato came out of the titan but he couldn't remove his hand that was stuck to the titan's flesh.
He struggled to get free but it wasn't working Mikasa landed on the titan, "Hold on, let me try something"
She sliced the flesh with her blade, separating the flesh from Ayato's hand.
Ayato fell to the ground after losing balance on the titan.
"What happened?" Ava asked, walking towards him.
"I don't know, it just-"
"Again! We'll spend all night if we have to" Ava propelled herself back to the tree branch.
"I don't know why, but I thought this would be easier" He took a deep breathe, "Okay, I'm ready"
After multiple tries, Ayato finally transformed into the perfect titan, his titan was even bigger than the last time he transformed.
It had long white hair that covered part of his face, red-like armor covering some part of his body, and razor-sharp bones sticking out of his collar bones.
Ava laughed as she got down from the tree, "You did it!" She yelled.
Mikasa blushed, covering her face with her scarf as she watched Ayato eject out of his titan and throw a smile her way with a thumbs up her way.
It was getting dark and it was time for them to head back to headquarters. Ayato was on his way to his room when he saw Eren sitting alone on the stairs.
"Hey, what are you doing here all by yourself?" Ayato asked.
"Resting"
"Something happened?" Ayato sat down beside Eren, watching as he hesitates to speak.
"I accidentally turned into a titan while trying to pick up a spoon, the soldiers didn't think twice before turning their swords at me, the look on their faces said it all… I'm a monster, never knew they so such small trust in me"
"We have the same powers, so we are both monsters" Ayato smiled, "But the thing about monsters is that they are excellent weapons against other monsters, so you can bet they won't just toss us aside, they need us".
*Present time*
Riding his horse, he spotted the female titan running towards him at a very fast pace.
"She must be heading towards the center flank, too bad, end of the road" He drew out his blade getting ready to harm himself.
"Go Ayato, I got your back, '' Ava yelled from behind.
"Yosh!" He jumped off his horse as soon as the female titan was close, still, in mid-air, he was able to lock eyes with the female titan.
"Look at those eyes… I would almost call them innocent! Enough with the killing already, you're making me look like a darn fool!" He sliced off his arm and turned into a titan as soon as the lightning came.
He landed a very powerful punch to her jaw that sent her flying and crashing to the ground.
After he had landed on the ground, he gave out a loud shriek, alerting the nearby soldiers of his location.
