Running Into Ace

“I’m very impressed with the idea that you came up with, Karina,” Jeremy said with a warm smile.

“Thanks. I hope you got to catch up on some sleep last night…” I replied as I eyed his face.

I couldn’t stop myself from smiling and giggling a little now that the bags under his eyes were less visible. It was a little sad that we had to take turns catching up on sleep like this; but hopefully soon, everything would work out for the better and this storm will past too.

“Should we relax for a day?” Jeremy suggested in a hopeful voice.

We headed back to our work desks where I dumped down my bag and my laptop. I wanted to rest for the day but the real reason that I wanted to get everything out of the way in the morning was because I had a very important matter to attend to.

“That doesn’t sound too bad. Anyways, if you don’t need me then…” I said before I flashed him a smile.

“Where are you going?” he asked as his eyes narrowed suspiciously at me.
