Joseph King becomes the youngest attorney to make partner at his firm, and boy is he loving it. Whilst transitioning into his long awaited bask in the glory of self-made success, he takes on new roles, is given a luxurious office as well as a personal secretary, Alice Mendez, who also new on the job is a young college graduate and singer.
Alice moved out of her father's house in Scarsdale and now lives in her own apartment in New York city with her little brother, Miguel. After experiencing major setbacks in her music career, she decides to explore the prospects of a day job, and excitingly, gets one at one of the most prominent law firms in New York. While settling into her new role, however, she finds herself slowly falling for her boss, who in more ways than one seems to be a bit too hot to handle and is developing an increasing interest in her as well. But the question is, will this brewing tincture of emotional and sexual tension in the office lead to something fulfilling or something they will both regret?

After Bale leaves, Joe quickly heads toward the outer door of the office to lock it. Then he comes back into the main office and clicks it shut as well. He sights Alice coming out of the bathroom almost fully dressed, with her shoes on and her hands straightening out her hair. Joe takes in a breath and then says with a smile, "Well.. It seems the worst is over." 


"..Doesn't seem like it to me.", Alice replies gloomily. 


Joe's heart nearly stops at her words. He becomes overwhelmingly anxious about what she could mean. However, he tries to remain as calm as possible. He walks up to her and holds her hands warmly. "Hey.. Alice, look at me.. What's wrong?" 


He caresses her shoulder with his palm in response, "I know that.. you probably heard some of the things that we said."
