“Y-yes?”
“I am the new Vice President, Baek Hyun Nam. I saw that you brought your child here.”
Jinhye didn’t know she would be talking with the Vice president especially when he’s the legendary Baek Hyun!
“W-well…I am afraid he’s going to get hurt if I leave him alone.”
Baek Hyun gave Jaehyun a smile but the child smirked at him. He knew Baek Hyun was in love. No way his intuition as his best friend for 10 years is wrong. Baek Hyun somehow felt threatened by the child’s smile.
When he got permission from Jinhye to talk with Jaehyun alone, they went to the company cafeteria and Baek Hyun gave him chocolate milk.
“How old is your mom?”
“32 years old.”
“Oh- wait, what?!”
“You’re 25, right? Do you like my mom now that you know she’s older than you?”
“I am 25 and no! I never said I liked her!” Baek Hyun saw the child raising his brow which made him sigh.
“Maybe a little. I just think she’s attractive.”
“As her 5 years old child, all I can say is that, you have no chance.”
Baek Hyun felt challenged and so he slammed his hand on the table.
“Wait for it, kid! You will call me dad in a few months from now!”
Jaehyun just watches as Baek Hyun runs to plan his way, winning Jinhye’s heart. Well, Jaehyun is dumb but now that he saw his friend new side, his friend is dumber than he thoughts.
He just helped himself back to his mother and when his mother was done with her shift, she went to the restaurant next. The owner lets Jaehyun sit down at any table and the child just stares at the customers.
“Aw, who’s child is this?” Two high school girls asked.
“Welcome pretty sisters.”
There he goes again. Communicating to get his charisma up.
“Oh my! Where is your mother?”
“She’s cooking inside.” He was expecting them to go away but…
“Let’s eat together with us!”
“No thanks. You guys are strangers.”
“Don’t worry, we’re good strangers!”
Somehow, he felt his social battery running out already. If being nice was this hard, he would rather be the villain everyone hates.
“Give me money if you’re that kind,”
“What?”
“Nothing.”
They proceeded to order and sat down with the child. More and more high school girls went there just to meet the child. One of them even drags their boyfriend to sit with Jaehyun.
“What’s so good about this child anyway-“
The girl manages to hit her boyfriend's mouth but Jaehyun understands the guy. What’s so good about a child that knows how to compliment girls? Nothing.
That kind of child is bound to be nothing but a troublemaker.
“Darn it. If you didn’t seduce her friend, me and her wouldn’t be stuck here-“
“I am sorry a child could beat you at seducing girls.”
Jaehyun honestly didn’t want to do this but since his charisma is almost B rank, he can’t stop now. And he didn’t intentionally said those words to the guy.
Now, they’re just quiet.
“You’re lucky you’re a child.”
“…I feel lucky too.”

Jaehyun quickly ate the snack as if he didn’t say anything. If anything he can’t wait to go home but his mother still needs to go to the sauna at night for her third part time job. Being a single parent is not easy and Jaehyun knew it.
If only he could help his mother.
When he looked to the side, he saw someone familiar. He is trying to remove his mask but he looks around as if people will scream if they see him. When he removed his cap, Jaehyun recognised the hair color and choked on his food for a minute.
“What is he doing here-“
The guy wears his cap again and orders shyly. The waitress is Jaehyun’s mother, which makes Jaehyun facepalm. His best friend is crazy.

The guy finish order and sighs in relief. When he looked around, he locked eyes with Jaehyun.
“Aha. Hey, child.”
“Hey. Old man.”
