Finally Home

Myra Ramirez hesitated and frowned before taking her hand. "Will you take me home?"

"That's what I said."

His eyes warmed to her. "But if you'd rather stay here with me—."

"No. I want to go home." She blurted while standing.

Myra didn’t mind it coming out so quickly, eagerly but she didn’t know how long the offer would last or if she would change her mind. Although, as long as she wanted to go home, a sick part of her wanted to stay with Mercury, who wanted to get to know him more. He was the only man outside of Kent Castillo that she had the chance to be with alone. And even though she didn’t want to admit it, she really enjoyed the little time they spent together, some moments more than others.

She lowered her gaze to him as she gently stroked the back of her hand with the pad of her thumb. And relentlessly played on her the growing fear that she would change her mind before she made eye contact again and smiled a tight lip.
