Chapter 29

Chapter 29,

An Exception not

Koshiro's POV

Looking at Hiruki's body, it was incredible that he's already healed. That wasn't what I'm worried about right now. What I'm worried about right now is Hiruki is frequently being out of control. He might be under his evolution. After all, evolution is when an hybrid of Angel and Devil, like he is. It's when they unleash their true power, and become a higher species.

For now, Hiruki's considered a human, but not anymore when he undergo his evolution. There are three races in the Natural Land that is originally what should be there except for the immigrants. Angels, which are almost godly, Devils, the God of Demons and lower than the Demon Kings, and Halfblood. Though, Halfbloods are not common, they're also considered not uncommon. To be precise, it's not natural, but it's not impossible to have a hybrid of Angels and Devils.

The Neutral Land, by the way, are also known as the Land of Allied Enemies. Devils and Angels from different families made an alliance to keep each other's peace, to say it. Even though this land is there, not all Devils and Angels are close friends. Some are really enemies, since they don't live at the Neutral Land.

Back to where we are, once Hiruki wakes up, I have some questions for him already prepared here in my head. He needs to be conscious about his current state. Since everyone's here, I think it's okay to talk about it.

Not long before I was staring at his face while I have a lot of things running through my head, he woke up. Hiruki, also, woke up and went red because of something.

"Hiruki, you're awake! Is something wrong?" I touched his forehead to make sure.

"N-No, I. . . Stop it!" Hiruki embarrassedly pushed my hand away from shock making the others divert their attention to us.

"Sorry," a word of apology came out of my mouth out of reflex.

"N-No—I. . ." He looked more flustered than before, "Sorry," he added in a low tone, his face not changing in color.

"I just diverted my eyes away for a second, and now, you're making your move, Hiruki," Goro came closer to the two of us with a dark face.

"Y-You got it wrong! Koshiro's the one!" Hiruki looked very scared that his voice started to shake from fear.

"Huh?!" Goro seemed more and more scary.

"Stop it, I approached Hiruki myself," I sighed.

"Do you know anything about what you just said?!" Hiruki seemed to be in panic more and more.

"Haha! That's my friend there, dumb like always. Stay like that, it suits you more better!" Gin came laughing at them while he claps his hands.

'What does that supposed to mean?' I thought.

"Oh, that reminds me. Hiruki can I ask you about in the match. Abou—" before I could finish, i was stopped by another voice.

"The match! Where's Kimmi?!" Hiruki looked like he's in a hurry.

"Of course, at her room, or maybe outside," Riven spoke.

"We need to hurry!" He said pulling me towards our of the room to look for the girl he just fought with.

At the same time, Gin Goro, and the twins also followed us on the way. We looked for her in her room after asking the one who holds the lists of names registered, but no one is in the room. Hiruki didn't even answered any of our questions, and just continued on looking for her. After a while, no sign of her was found.

"What now?" Goro asked.

"Outside. If we don't find her right away, something bad might happen," Hiruki said while he pants from running around.

Reaching the outside, we never dared to talk anymore and just looked around if we could find any clues about her. We asked different peoples about it, but it was no use. She was nowhere to be found. Not until we bumped into a boy in his sixteens on the road as we run.

"Are you okay?" I held out my hand to help him.

He grabbed my hand and brushed off the dusts, "Watch out. People here are mostly hot-blooded, so you're lucky to bump into me. Don't be such in a hurry."

Without hesitation, I asked, "Have you seen a girl in black dress here? We've been looking for her this whole time," I was worried more so, I couldn't help it.

"Black dress? Oh, you mean Kimmi? I don't know for sure, but I heard that she bet her life on the line to get a Master. If she loses, she dies," his words creeped me out, "Why?" he added a question.

"She might get killed now, have you seen her?" I added another question.

"K-Killed? I thought it was just a rumour?!" The boy was now in panic, "Come with me. If what you say is true, I know of a place where she might be," he ran and we followed him ln the way.

The way back more difficult to run on as we proceed the run. Sometimes, we have to go through narrow ones.

Without knowing, we reached the mountains. Since the Stadium was near the edge of the city, which is the mountains. As we climb up the mountain, we pass through some trees with carvings that seemed to be from a bear or it might be from a monster.

Reaching a cave, the guy pointed at it, "Right there. That must be their base."

"We need to hurry, then," Goro said while trying to catch his breathing.

Slowly, a weird, scary sensation was felt inside me. I don't know what it is, but I'm sure it's something bad. I feel my gooseflesh rising even by just looking at the cave. It was somewhat dark, creepy, and mysterious, but at the same time, I never felt it like something thrilling.

In a sudden, a voice spoke in my head, "Are you sure about that? If you chicken out now, it'll be your loss," It was Aeris warning him.

"I-I know that! But still! I don't like that feeling! It like it's like it's killing me slowly by just gazing at the darkness there!" I backed off a step.

"Koshiro, is something wrong? You and Hiruki is acting too strange," Goro was now worried.

"It's dark magic. If elemental magic user except for Dark, Wind, and Light Magic user came in contact with Dark Magic, they won't realize it until they made a physical contact with it. But that's not the case with the exception, since they're sensitive to Dark Magic, especially Light and Wind Magic," Gin explained the situation.

"Then, how are we supposed to get her out of there?" 'That guy' asked.

"Simple, Barge in!" Gin began to light up the mood.

"But how? Our strongest fighters are weak," Goro was worried with our situation.

Gin snapped his finger, making something envelope us, making me feel like there's no more fear, "I have a little plan devised now. We don't have time to change it or repair it's holes. Listen," Gin became serious, "With my magic, the two is able to be unaffected by the magic, but they can't get out of that to fight. Next one, Goro and I will deal with the dark magic, and if we're successful, which is almost impossible, there might be other enemies there. That's where Hiruki comes in. He's also good at support and long-range battle, so he's a hope. Just in case, we'll bring Koshiro. If we defeat the enemy, we wont be needing my magic, and Koshiro can move freely. There might be another enemy there in the back, so we'll fight them," Gin never gave a halt in his words that it made me want to not listen to him explain out strategy.

"Well then, let's go. You, stay here," said Goro pointing at 'That guy'.

As we enter, the place was filled with golds, chests, but nothing too valuable like the girl we're looking for. Entering the one and only big gate in front of us, we saw a ancient words scribbled in the walls and in the ground. Four candles in the edges of the cube-shaped room, and Kimmi on the middle entangled in chains from her hands to her two feet. A guy in cloak is in the middle, and some other guys with cloak that doesn't seem special was surrounding him.

Without a warning, we attacked them. To be precise, "They". I wasn't included in that.

Hiruki came for the small fries and the two came for the Dark Magic user. In an instant, with just chants as loud as a whisper, zombies came crawling from the ground, defeating the enemies.

Goro and Gin, on the other hand, also defeated the dark magic user before he could summon or use any Dark Magic type magic.

A clap echoed into the place, "That was magnificent, wasn't it?" A guy from the back came laughing.

Goro and Gin attacked at the same time, but Goro was pushed off and bumped into Gin, bouncing the two away.

Hiruki, on the other hand, chanted, "Darkness, give me your power, Party from He—" Before he could finish, he was thrown away along with the barrier made by Gin.

"Hiruki, Goro, Gin!" I called out to them.

Looking at the shield I'm in, Gin is still conscious, "Aeris, can't you do something?!" My voice was in panic and filled with distress.

"I owe you one, if I'm not wrong. Just this once to pay you back," his voice came echoing in my head.

"You, it's time to sleep. You have lived your life full of sins," Aerial smirked with my body, which was too embarrassing.

Before the guy could cast, he was torn apart into pieces by Aeris' magic, which shocked me. I didn't expect this one to be at this level.

"W-Why help h-him?" The guy was still conscious.

"Of course for one reason," Aeris chuckled, "It's because he's an exception," he added.
