Bloodshed

As soon as the truck stopped bouncing, she heard the tailgate drop and someone grabbed her by the waist, hoisting her into a small cabin. Zax shut the door behind them and they set her on a oak table, turning on a lamp to look at her.

"Is she even stable?" Zax asked, poking her with a knife. William took off his goggles and looked at her with blue eyes.

"Probably, we just have to see," He said, putting rubber gloves on. They started by taking her shirt off and dragged the blade down her chest, cutting her skin open. Then they peeled the skin back to reveal her rib cage. Then, Zax grabbed a hammer and jabbed the claw underneath the ribs, pulling with all of his might as the rib broke off with a sickening snap. Then, Zax pulled out her heart and slipped a device into the aorta, which looked like a black computer chip.

"Heart Overdrive Device is installed," He said, placing her heart back in the chest cavity. William looked inside of her and placed a green cell outside her heart.

"Overdrive Battery Device is online," He said, charging the device. Zax walked up with an odd device on an old cart. He took two needles and jabbed them into her head, typing on a keyboard.

"Pain Neutralizer Device is active," He said. Then, they put a different rib cage in replace of hers and sowed her chest up, re buttoning her shirt. Then, Liam grabbed a roll of bandages and wrapped it around her head until the roll was gone. Then, William came with a black and red wire, touching them together as sparks flew. He nodded at Zax, then he stabbed her in the chest with the wires, making her heart race to life. She gasped and sat up, grabbing a knife and pressed it against William's neck.

"What the fuck did you do to me?!" She yelled, pressing harder against his neck. He stayed silent when she sensed something to her right. She threw the knife as it impaled itself into Zax's hand, making him scream in pain as he dropped a pistol, pinning him against the wall. She stood up off the table and grabbed a scalpel, pressing it against William's throat again.

"I'm not going to ask you again, what did you do to me?!" She yelled, kicking him in the knee, making him fall to a knee.

"How do you remember?" He asked calmly. She grew confused when he said that.

"What?" She asked and William tripped her, grabbing the scalpel from her and threw her to the ground, pressing the scalpel against her throat.

"Listen, Cora Jade. I am going to ask again, how do you remember?" He said. She looked around when she saw a bottle. She punched him in the face and grabbed the bottle, smashing it against his head. William wiped blood out of the corner of his mouth as he stood up, flipping the scalpel.

"None of your business," She said, charging him. He ducked and landed a punch to her gut, making her lose all of her air and then he tackled her, pressing the scalpel, again, to her throat.

"It is my concern because I brought you back to life," He said. She sighed and headbutted him, knocking him backwards. She then tackled him and started to punch him in the face as she grabbed a piece of glass, pressing it against his throat.

"You can find out after you're dead," She said when Zax pulled the knife out of his hand, reaching for the gun when she threw the piece of glass at him, it getting stuck in his other hand. He screamed and retreated from the gun. She turned around to eat a boot from William, making her fall and then he grabbed the gun, aiming it at her. She slowly rose from the ground, spitting blood, and he looked her in the eyes.

"Now I will ask one last time, how. Do you. Remember?" He asked. She sighed and looked at Zax before she explained everything she remembered. Then, after she was done, she looked at William as he lowered the gun, Zax standing next to William.

"Well, it seems that we have the same enemy after all," William said, holstering the pistol. She looked at him, confused as Zax bandaged his hands.

"What do you mean?" She asked. William started picking up the scalpel and knife as he explained.

"Well, if you didn't figure it out already, Jimmy is working for Marcus. I know that's confusing since humans normally don't get along with Anomalies but everyday, Marcus sends his best men to be killed by Jimmy. Why, you ask? So that Jimmy, that sleazy fucker, can collect bodies. That field you saw? That was a bio-weapons facility. They turn dead people into fucking super soldiers," He said, stabbing the knife into the table.

"Yeah, that little fuck wants to make an army that could destroy the Anomalies all together," Zax said, spitting on the ground.

"But, why does Marcus want to do that?" She asked when William said something that chilled her to the bone.

"So he can be in control," He said. She growled and punched the wall, her fist flying through it. She pulled it out and looked at the wall, seeing that she punched through brick.

"The devices seem to be working," William said. She looked at him as he pulled his mask down, revealing a destroyed jaw, making him look like a clown with his mouth. He took a swig of water and pulled his mask up, covering up his malformed mouth.

"I got a mission for you and it's all for one person, Jimmy 'Sleazy' fucking Bojenkins. After you kill him, bring me his dirty lungs, and I will promise you, you'll like the results," William said, sitting down at a table. He nodded at Zax and he opened a cupboard, handing her two kunais

"Just do what you do best," Zax said. She looked at William, confused.

"Why do I need his lungs?" She asked. Liam shook his head and explained.

"In his lungs is a device called a RBM or Respiratory Breathing Module. It's a fragile device that is used to cure pneumonia, but it also overdrives the lungs, giving them a faster breathing, still using the same amount of oxygen, and you can hold your breath longer. It's nifty, isn't it?" He asked, smiling. She nodded and he leaded her to a truck, which was painted black with the night.

"We'll take you to the exterior vent of the bunker since they doubled in security. Then, you can just crawl straight into the bunker with no problem," William said.
