"Mauve."

"Yes," she heard herself say with her head still bent.

"Mill said you might be ill."

Mauve nodded. "It is just for today, I should feel better in a couple of hours or at most by tomorrow night."

No response.

Mauve raised her head when he didn't respond to see him turning around the side of her bed. He walked close enough and sat next to her.

"It is unfortunate that you can go to the rooftop during this period. However, as soon as the party is over and the guests have gone, you can roam around however you like."

He softly touched her cheeks and she rested her head on his palm. Why hadn't he used this approach when he told her she could leave the room?

He had given the order and when she had questioned him about it, he had shut her down. She couldn't wait for this period to be over because it felt as if she was with a completely different person.

"So, I won't meet any of the vampires?" She asked.
