144. The Response

"Was that a good idea?" Zane asked with a haughty expression on his face.

Damon shrugged, a good idea or not, he was going to get the letter sent. Considering the sun was out he needed someone else to move around in his stead.

Greedy humans were much easier to handle than the self-righteous ones. The ones who felt they were nothing but the spawn of the devil and shouldn't roam around them.

He didn't care for the lot of them and he could send them to meet their maker faster than they could say his name but there was the fact that he couldn't use force because of the alliance.

Therefore, he avoided situations that would provoke him. Alone, humans were scaredy cats but as soon as they were in a group, they tended to act like they could take him on.

It was annoying to be dragged into a mess like that. He missed when they were properly feared and when he stepped into their territories humans fled at the sight of him.
