175. Alone

"Are you sure you don't need me to accompany you?" Mill asked with a concerned look on her face.

"It is just down this path, Mill. it will be worrisome if I need help getting there." Mauve said, slightly annoyed that Mill was about to make going to Jael's room all by herself seem like a big deal.

"Won't it be best if you wait for His Grace?" Mill didn't look very happy or convinced by Mauve's words.

Mauve frowned, "He will take forever. It is fine, don't worry so much."

"Won't it be lonely all by yourself?"

"I don't mind the wait, really. Besides, if I remain here you won't get some rest."

She pushed herself off the bed and Mill helped her stand. "I am not weak, Mill." She pulled away from Mill who looked saddened by this.

"Are you sure you don't need me to go with you?" She asked again.

"Yes," Mauve said, she sounded exasperated. "You should go get some sleep, it's way past dawn and Jean is already asleep."
