249. Not Promised A Princess

"Actually, I wasn't promised a princess," Jael announced.

"What?" Danag yelled out, he looked like he was about to convulse.

"Evan promised me his daughter and now it makes sense why he would do that," Jael said with a dark look in his eyes.

She was something he wanted to get rid of, the thought put a nasty taste at the back of Jael's mouth. He wanted to punch something. Who would do that to their own offspring?

"I don't understand, Sire," Danag said with genuine confusion.

"There was no need for Mauve as I was fine without a trophy but you see, Lord Evan insisted. He said something about wanting leverage, he wanted to be sure Vampires weren't trying to deceive Humans. He asked me if I would be willing to marry his only daughter who he loved so much to show we were indeed at peace." Jael paused dramatically as he waited for the words to sink in.
