270. A Graze

Mauve stood on the gravel as she watched the sky slowly go dark. It was a bit chilly but not enough for her to get a jacket. Besides, her arms were already covered and her dress was long enough to protect her legs.

She turned her head to the left and right as she got a view of the plain. Overgrown bushes were everywhere, only the front of the castle and the path leading out of it looked kept.

There were broken branches everywhere and Mauve wondered why no one picked up after them but Mauve could certainly see why. With the fence in such a terrible state, any wild could have a field day during the day and turn the surroundings into a wreck.

Mauve was curious to see how far the grassland stretched out. She could only see the field in front of the castle. What about behind the castle? Was it also in this state?

"It will only be for a few minutes, please Mill." She pouted her lips and looked up at Mill.
