299. Inferno

The first meal took longer than Jael expected and by the time they were done eating, there was barely any time for anything else other than to leave.

Danag tried informing him of what he had put in place but when he realized that he was in no mood to listen, Danag had taken the hint and kept his mouth shut for the rest of the meal.

Jael wiped his lips onto the napkin and stood to his feet. Damon, Danag, and Erick rose simultaneously, following closely behind Jael as he headed for the door.

Jael got out of the dining hall to find Mack, Mill, and a few other servants waiting outside the door. Mack and a servant held bags. Jael knew immediately that it was what they needed for the journey.

"Sire," they all bowed as he appeared in front of them.

Jael slowed his footsteps and came to a full stop. The servants still kept their heads bowed while Mack and Mill raised theirs.
