Mauve blinked at Mill who stood over her by the side of the bed. "What?" She asked sitting upright, her brain was slow to catch up with her body so she had not heard what Mill said.

"Sorry, I shouldn't have bombarded you with all those words when you're just waking up."

"It's fine," she replied, rubbing her eyes. "It's time for the second meal, right?"

"Yes."

"Okay," Mauve said and started to get out of bed. "Where is Jael?"

"That's what I wanted to tell you about."

Mauve turned her head to look at Mill who was still standing by the side of the bed. "Tell me what?"

"The Primus won't join us for the second meal and he asked me to accompany you in his stead."

Mauve blinked and turned her head away, "Did he say why?"

She couldn't remember the last time they didn't go for a meal together, except when he was away. Was he avoiding her? It was ridiculous to think that.

"No," Mill said, shaking her head a little.
