356. A Severed Arm

Last Night

Danag walked into the castle to silence. It was just about time for the end of the second meal and he couldn't hear a sound.

This was very odd, there was supposed to be some sort of rowdiness but it was pretty quiet. Almost as though no one was in the castle.

Everything had seemed alright from outside the castle. The workers were working as normal. He had caught no sign of Haney but it was only safe to assume he was taking charge of the recruits and that was happening on the other side of the castle.

"Where is everyone?" Erick asked with a frown. "There are no guards by the front door. Did something happen?"

"My thoughts exactly," Danag replied. "And it's quiet, too quiet."

Suddenly, Mill came running from the direction of the kitchen. "Danag," she cried, rushing to him.

"Mill," he called back, turning in her direction. "What is going on? Where is everyone?"

"Thank Goodness you're back. It's the Primus."
