471. Overly Familiar

When they got to the dining, Mauve noticed they were pretty early. No one else was at the table. Mauve walked ahead of Louis to her seat. She couldn't remember when she was this early for a meal.

"Wait," Louis said, rushing to her side.

She frowned and turned around to look at him, "What?" She asked, not hiding her irritation.

"Let me help you." As he spoke, he pulled back her chair and Mauve had the strongest urge to smack him.

"What are you doing?" She asked with distaste.

"Isn't it obvious? I am being a gentleman," he said looking at her as if she was stupid.

"No, I am sure if I try to sit, you'll pull the chair right from under me."

"What?" He gasped. "Do you really think so little of me?"

"Little is an overstatement," she whispered and tried to take the seat away from him.

"Just sit alright. I promise not to harm you," he said with a snicker.
