497. Cushion

Her first meal went well and nothing seemed out of place with Jael. He actually looked relaxed but she thought he was awfully quiet, he would usually tease her every chance he got but he did none of that.

She wanted to ask about who was at the door but since he didn't mention it, she let it go.

"Where would you go from here?" He asked as he watched her wipe the corners of her mouth.

"What?" She asked, she had been too engrossed in her thoughts to hear him.

"I asked what you'd do after eating."

"Oh, I will go to your study. I need to continue with the letters."

"Don't overdo it," he said.

"I know," she whispered and stood up. "However, the faster I can get it over with, the better."

"Yeah but no matter how fast you try, you'd need at least a couple of weeks."

"Weeks? Jael, come on. I will be done in a week. Don't doubt me."

"I am not doubting you, I'm telling you to take it slow."
