"Come in," Jael said with a frown at the incessant knocking.

Louis walked in with a scowl on his face. "You didn't have to make me knock for so long."

Jael shrugged, "I suppose you need something from me. The fact that you're here and not in the dining hall says it's important."

"Yes, I finally got a hold of Otis," Louis explained as he approached the desk.

Mauve was still on Jael's lap and she clung onto him tightly.

"It's almost time for the last meal. You couldn't find him earlier?"

"Yep, he was out of the castle the entire time and only just returned. It was annoying trying to find him."

"Well, all that matters is that you. What did he say?" Jael didn't hide his disinterest in the matter.

"Did you know about his occasional rounds?" Louis asked.

"Occasional? He only asked for permission once, I didn't think it was a usual thing."
