"What do you mean?" Mauve asked.

"Most people run away from strange things," he responded.

"Strange?!" Her brows furrowed. "It's magic," she enunciated with her hands. "Anyone would want to know more about it."

She took a deep breath, annoyed that Louis was giving her an amused look instead of responding.

"I am glad you have a positive look at it. I was concerned it was a bad idea to involve you in it."

"I have so many questions but I am sure you won't answer any of them."

"Don't be so judgmental. You never know."

"Would you teach me more about magic and what you know about it?"

Louis sat up straight, his back unmoving. "I only did that out of curiosity. In case you didn't notice, I am a very curious person."

"I don't think the word I would use is curious," she said, rolling her eyes at him.

"However," he articulated. "I have no intention of going further with this."
