Louis strolled into the library, his presence catching Mauve off guard. "Why am I not surprised you're here?" he quipped.

"You're late," Mauve retorted, closing the book she held.

"I am late?" Louis chuckled. "I don't remember setting an appointment." He plopped down onto a nearby seat.

Mauve's frustration bubbled up. "Would you stop dangling the offer in front of me and then taking it away? It's not fair."

"That's not true. I am telling you all I know. It's not my fault we were interrupted the last time, but I do intend to teach you this time around. I doubt it would be much because theoretical knowledge is different from actual experience."

"Yeah, but I am sure with your big brain and my learning ability, we can figure this out," she replied.

"Big brain?" He laughed. "I am glad we both agree, but I sincerely doubt your learning ability."

She gave him an unimpressed look. "I take that back."
