Mauve stared across from Louis as she sat in the library. Jael was currently busy with Kieran and had left her to her own devices. She didn't know what they were discussing, but Mauve figured it had something to do with the Palers.
This was still a major problem vampires experienced, and Jael was deeply worried about it. Who knew when the Palers would attack again? The last two attacks had been terrible, with one ending in many casualties. She knew Jael would like to come up with a better solution before the Palers struck again.
Unfortunately, there was nothing she could do to help in this instance. All she could do was try to be as supportive as possible. Not to mention that she had problems of her own. She had to fix a time with Danag. She had so much to do and, at the same time, be more active in the affairs of the castle. Mauve didn't like any of this, but she also found that she was excited. A child was coming along—she had to be prepared in every sense.
