Mauve was surprised Sabrina was able to join them in the dining hall for the second meal. She did arrive a little late. Mauve had thought she would eat in her room, first because she had just arrived, and second because of how Jael had spoken to her.
"Sabrina," Mauve called with a bright smile. "You didn't have to rush down here; you could have asked the servants to serve your meal in your room."
"Thank you," Sabrina replied, "but this is fine."
Mauve nodded. "How was the journey here?" she asked, furthering the conversation. She realized she had been so excited by Sabrina's presence that she had forgotten to ask.
"It was good," Sabrina returned as she dug into her meal.
Mauve didn't miss that she didn't offer more details, but she didn't press. Lady Sabrina must be exhausted from the journey. Mauve was still a bit shocked that she would make such a trip just to confirm and congratulate her. It made her happy, though.
