So-called Wife

Just as Ariel wished, the Prophetess came to visit her she went to the dining hall for breakfast. It was the day King Vladimir told her about their attendance at the Royal banquet.

She asked the Prophetess a few questions concerning Lord Luthur and King Vladimir and how they related.

"Both of them are different. But they have some certain similarities." The Prophetess answered with a smile.

Ariel also asked if she and King Vladimir could fall in love.

"Only time will tell."

Ariel also told her about her dreams and how the unknown creature approached her and his words to her. Ariel told the Prophetess that she found the unknown creature attractive even though he has sharp claws and fangs.

The Prophetess laughed her ass out. She found Ariel's words to be funny before asking her a mysterious question.

"How can you find a beast attractive and find your husband unattractive?"

Ariel was puzzled by the Prophetess' question. Why would she compare the beast to her husband? But the Prophetess knew exactly why she asked the question. Instead of Ariel giving her an answer she digressed and talked about the Royal bouquet.

"You'll meet other dignitaries of the Kingdom of Vallat there and you might get to make friends. So I wish you all the best and be of good behavior if you want to survive in this our world of struggles." Just after saying that the Prophetess disappeared.

"If I want to survive in their world of struggles?" Ariel asked herself repeating what the Prophetess said. The words were complex and complicated which Ariel couldn't understand.

After their brief discussion, her maids barged into her room which pissed her up a little so she threw a tantrum. It was like barging into her privacy.

"Who gave you both the audacity to barge into my room unannounced?" Ariel asked raising a brow.

The two maids immediately apologized with their heads bowed. Nadia was holding a white dress while Sabre was holding a pair of black stiletto heels.

After cautioning them, they helped Ariel get prepared for breakfast because they'll be leaving immediately for the Royal bouquet after breakfast.

Descending from the stairs, the men that were already settled at the dining hall glanced at Ariel in adoration. All excerpts are from King Vladimir and Lord Luthur. Those men were something else.

Lord Orpheus played the role of a good husband which he wasn't as he was trying to teach King Vladimir a lesson for ignoring his adorable wife. Lord Orpheus was also an elegant and charming man but not as that as King Vladimir and Lord Luthur. They were like gods in human form.

"My Lady." He held her hand and helped her down the stairs. He adjusted a chair for her to sit and kissed her knuckles before leaving for his sit. The other men were startled by Lord Orpheus' actions but they decided not to intervene.

As usual, Lord Luthur pretended Ariel was not existing. While King Vladimir didn't spare her a glance or admire the dress he sent to her through her maids. Ariel wore a white dress that was showing the upper part of her chest and also revealing her cleavage. There was an opening from her leg to her thigh and the front part of her leg was exposed.

You can tell from her outfit that King Vladimir likes sexy outfits or should we say, sexy women.

After the peaceful breakfast, they all headed to the carriage that was waiting for them at the entrance of the castle. The Lords took a glimpse of Ariel's dress one more time before they complimented her.

"I can't believe King Vladimir picked this kind of intriguing outfit for his wife." Lord Raul spoke in awe.

"She looks more like a goddess. I wish she was mine." Lord Orpheus teased and King Vladimir's gaze at him sent daggers to his chest. So he immediately laughed it off. "I was just kidding." Who knows he was damn serious?

"Princess Ariel you're gonna capture the hearts of hungry vam... I mean hungry men." Lord Louisville added while he grinned.

Lord Luthur kept his comment to himself.

Lord Louisville and Lord Raul occupied one carriage while Lord Orpheus and Lord Luthur occupied the other. The main carriage was occupied by the King and his wife.

On their way to the Royal banquet, Lord Orpheus couldn't help but question the quiet man opposite him. He could not read what was going through his mind so he had to question him.

"Luthur, did Princess Ariel do something wrong to you, or has she offended you in any way?" Lord Orpheus asked curiously.

Although it was Lord Luthur's nature to be quiet and cold he was overdoing it when it comes to Princess Ariel. Lord Luthur clasped his hands and crossed his legs, staring blankly at Lord Orpheus.

"Do you have a problem with that? Are you in love with the King's so-called wife?" Lord Luthur said with his face void of any emotions.

So-called wife?

Lord Orpheus gritted his teeth furiously. "Are you answering my question with a question? Can't you give me a straight reply?"

That was Lord Luthur's bad habit. Answering questions with questions. So delusional.

"Why do you want a straight reply?" Lord Luthur asked before looking away.

Back in King Vladimir and Princess Ariel's carriage, there was a long silence which made Ariel uncomfortable so she decided to break the silence.

"How long will it take for us to get to our destination?" Ariel asked since that was the only way she could get his attention.

"Do I look like the coachman to you? Meanwhile, it'll take some hours to get to our destination." He answered without looking at her. Instead, his eyes were fixed on her exposed legs and Ariel didn't skip seeing that.

"You're good at picking a sexy outfit. Do I look attractive to you?" Ariel was surprised by her own words. King Vladimir was speechless. Then he spared Ariel a glance with a small smirk on his face which made Ariel's heart skip a bit.
