Ocean Of The Galaxy

The gentle breeze blew, kissing every part of her skin. The cold evening was a perfect time for their recreation. Ariel and King Vladimir rode on their respective horses tirelessly. Ariel was quick to give up, they both came down and strode with their horses.

"Aren't we there yet?" Ariel asked. They've come this far and haven't gotten to their destination.

King Vladimir shook his head. "Let's savor our moment."

Ariel smiled at his words. They were in the middle, in between their horses, holding the horses' reins.

"Look up to the sky, what'd you see?" He asked with his gaze on the dark clouds.

Ariel followed his gaze. The stars shone brightly and the moon brightened up the dark clouds.

"I see the moon and stars."

"The moonlight is beautiful, isn't it?" King Vladimir asked turning to look at Ariel.

Ariel caught his gaze on her and her cheeks flushed red. Indeed, she had to savor the moment with him since it was a once in a lifetime.

"It truly it's beautiful."

"I can bring them closer for you to see." King Vladimir said with a hint of a smirk playing on his lips.

Ariel didn't believe him. She thought he was just pulling her legs.

"..."

"We've arrived." He announced, leaving their horses and taking Ariel to stand close to the ocean of the galaxy.

The water had the moon and stars on it. The moonlight shone brighter over the water. Ariel was amazed.

She remembered clearly where she had seen something like it but couldn't get the pieces together.

It was as if anytime she was with him, she can't remember anything from her dream and her moment with the unknown creature.

"What is this place?" Ariel asked. She was all smiles, smiling from ear to ear.

"My resting area. I come here most of the time to have a view of the ocean of the galaxy." King Vladimir said crossing his hands at his backside.

Ariel just stood like a statue, staring at him in amazement. Her hatred for him was slowly washing away but she won't allow it. If she succumbed to his charm, she'd end up getting hurt.

"The ocean of the galaxy has a beautiful sight to behold." She confessed and her confession was true. It was the most beautiful thing she had ever seen.

"It only brings out its beauty at night." King Vladimir squatted close to the river, dipping his hand into the ocean as if searching for something. Ariel also squatted next to him.

"Why doesn't it shows its beauty in the daytime?" Ariel asked in curiosity.

Her curiosity always takes the best of her. But she needed to know more about this beautiful water that shows the galaxy.

"It's beautiful and is only meant for the night creatures to admire." King Vladimir said before he realized the words that had just come out of his mouth.

"Night creatures?"

Oh goodness! He was done for. Behold, the fireflies came to his rescue.

"Look Arielle, fireflies."

Ariel was stunned. The fireflies were also beautiful. King Vladimir sighed in relief for a mission well accomplished and thanked the fireflies for saving his ass.

"What about the River of Valox?" Ariel asked. She had remembered when the Prophetess talked about not passing the River of Valox with her so as not to endanger her life.

King Vladimir laughed. How can she be comparing the ocean of the galaxy to the River of Valox? It was like comparing light and darkness.

"You want to see that too? It's not far from Vallat." He smirked.

What was the smirk for? Ariel thought. It's because she was a weakling and won't be able to resist the strong aura of the river.

"Vallat is blessed to have the ocean of galaxy. Although, the other kingdoms want to have it too even though they haven't seen it but only heard of it. Can they possibly steal it?" King Vladimir said laughing at what he had just said. Ariel also found his statement funny and laughed her ass off.

Steal the ocean of galaxy? That impossible. Where would they start?

"The River of Valox has killed millions of souls and is probably one of the most dangerous water in the world. Our ancestors tried to seal their ground but it wasn't possible. Only deadly and supernatural beings can pass through it." He said still with his hand inside the water.

Deadly or supernatural beings?

"What about the Prophetess? I've seen her disappearing and appearing, could she be among the supernatural beings?" Ariel asked her questions like a curious child. She couldn't help it. She needed to know more about these things.

King Vladimir was surprised that Amira could do that in Ariel's presence. He thought about confronting her when they meet. But he had an unfinished task, answering his curious wife's questions.

"Yes, she is. The supernatural beings and the deadly beings are different. Don't get yourself confused."

Ariel was about to ask another question but he immediately shushed her, bringing out a blue gem from the water.

"Wow." Ariel's lips formed an 'O' shape.

The gem was rare and magical. She watched how King Vladimir made a pendant out of it and handed it over to her.

"It's a gift."

"From you to me?" Ariel smiled thinking the man was developing some feelings for her. Her thought was quenched by the man's answer.

"Silly, it's from the ocean to you. Let's head back to the castle." He went to arrange their horses who were still waiting for their masters.

Ariel admired the pendant and tied it to her neck. The blue gem glittered much to her liking. She didn't know the reason why the King was acting so nice to her. Her illusions were wrong, he doesn't have a single feeling for her.

They rode back to the castle in silence, both of them didn't want to break the silence. King Vladimir was pleased with the long silence by Ariel had to endure it. They got to the castle, not noticing the pair of eyes that were following them from behind.
