Though a part of her felt guilty for doing something like this behind her mother's back, a larger part of her felt that it was necessary as her mother was most likely never going to change her mind and would remain stubborn for the rest of her life. Despite her mother's orders to never speak with Zane or even visit him in person, she found herself unable to comply with her orders. It was rather shocking for Zane to hear when she told him about what had occurred along with him being heartbroken when he found out about what her mother said to her.
