Hayley didn't know what to think. The day before she got to spend time with her friends and later go on another date with Zane, her mother suddenly decided to call her and right when she was about to go to bed. The fact that it was spring reading week didn't make it any better for her, especially since she had been looking forward to spending time with her friends and secret lover. So much for good timing, she thought to herself before picking up her phone. 


"Yes?" she asked while attempting to hide the bitterness and irritation from her tone. 


"Hayley?" her mother responded. "Look I know we ended things on a rather sour note the last time we saw each other but I just want to apologize." 


"For what exactly?" she asked suspiciously.
