Avery and Cornelia had puzzled expressions on their faces. "Paranormal," Cornelia asked. They both leaned in to get a closer look as Cornelia encircled the bite with her hand. "Oh, em, gee. Did Mia bite you, Scarlett? Has your mother been informed of it? It looks like a deep bite. You need to see the doctor."

Scarlett separated herself from them. "No. Mia didn't bite me." Immediately, she dragged her clothes down to cover the bite.

"Who bit you, then? Although you are not bleeding, it appears to be a deep cut," said Avery.

"Exactly." In front of them, Scarlett drew a chair and sat down. "Mia didn't bite me. I felt like I was going to die after being bitten by something in the woods. I felt as if it was my last time on earth. I continued to feel the beast's teeth digging into me as I bled uncontrollably. This morning, when I awoke, I was totally recovered. My bleeding had stopped. I was only left with this scar, but I'm not hurt."
