Belly turned to face October. "You can't keep letting her walk over you like that. Every now and then, you have to smack her, ruining her lovely face. Damn! Why does she have to be that beautiful? Is she aging backward or something?" 


October started to chuckle. "She has a good heart, but she can be mean at times." 


"Mom, I heard everything. She wants to get revenge? Things would get worse if that happened. The hunters haven't fought in a long time because they know how strong the werewolves are." 


"Augusta won't back down. She will exact her vengeance, and the council will support her." 


"Edward used to be one of them. Since Augusta learned what happened to him, I'm willing to bet that they have as well. They won't back down because Edward was a valued member and held a significant position in the council. I never told you this, but his family founded the council." 


"What? You mean the O'Haras own the Council?"
