Simon's eyes widened. Do they know who the alpha is? Who are these people? Instantaneously, he mind-linked Mace. "Did you know that the person who was involved in the accident was Scarlett's mother?"


"Mace. This isn't even fun anymore. You're upset with me. I understand, but I didn't do it. This doesn't seem to add up, in my opinion. She claimed to have seen red eyes emerging from the woods. Do you understand what that implies?"


"It indicates the presence of the alpha. Perhaps when she saw his face, her automobile crashed into a rock. Wait…. Where are you exactly?" Simon said nothing and Mace groaned. "Oh my. Really, you returned to their home?"


"I traveled there in search of Scarlett. I had intended to mend our relationship."


"There is no longer a relationship between you two. You then made the decision to skulk around and overhear their chat?"
