When a knock was heard on the door, Mia pushed Cornelia and Avery out of the way. "Go. Go. Go." she whispered. Mia jumped on Scarlett's bed and covered herself with a blanket. Cornelia and Avery took positions underneath it.


"Scarlett?" Aunt Augusta walked in and closed the door behind her. She approached Scarlett's bed. "How are you feeling now?"


Mia muffled as she properly covered her head with the blanket. An hour ago after their call with Mace, Avery had volunteered to take the plate to the kitchen. She had found her way back to Scarlett's room after making sure no one saw her.
