CHAPTER FOURTY FIVE

KYUNG EUNSOO

I looked over at Taemin's mum as she squeezed my hand lightly before going off into her room. We grabbed whatever we thought we needed and drove off.

The drive was long and awfully quiet. Everyone was probably fearing the worst and reliving the nightmare that bastard put us through. I tried to maintain a clear head but my mind kept wondering as I tapped my feet nervously. Taemin had his face turned to the window as he gently slid his hand into mine. I gave them a light squeeze and shut my eyes.

LEE TAEMIN

I was a nervous wreck and I couldn't bring myself to look at Eunsoo, lest I crumble. After a while, we came to a stop in front of a high fenced building. The heavy gates slid open and we drove in.

" Hongjoong! Are you okay? Is everyone ok?". A woman yelled as she ran over to Hongjoong and hugged him.

" Mum relax. I'm fine ". He said while stroking her hair gently.

" Eunsoo". She said with a small nod.

The sun was now high in the sky by the time we were settled in. I pulled the curtains wide apart and drew in long breaths of the fresh air. My tummy tingled as Eunsoo wrapped his hands around my waist and buried his face in neck. He nuzzled his nose along my nape and lay his head on my shoulder.

I looked down at this long fingers that tightened around me and covered them with mine. We stood there for what felt like hours, not talking and just gazing at the sun.

" Taemin breakfast is ready "

I turned around to see Hongjoong standing at the door.

" Hmm we'll be down soon "

" Okay ". He said and left.

I caressed Eunsoo's hands lightly as I tried to clear my mind.

" Hey...relax. We've dealt with him before, so...we'll be fine. Okay? " Eunsoo said as he spun me around to face him.

I looked up at his eyes that stared back reassuringly.

" Yeah. Let's do this "

I looked down at his outstretched hands and slapped mine in his. I could hear him giggle as he led out of the room.

" Good morning ". We said

We pulled out chairs and joined everyone at the table. I looked over at Bada who was seated next to me and nudged him lightly.

" Hi "

" Hey. How'd you sleep? I was kinda nervous haha ". He said and coughed lightly.

" Bada. Be careful unless you wanna choke. I told you not to talk with food in your mouth ". Eunsoo said and passed him a glass of water.

" Hyung...I'm not a baby ". He said in a whiny voice as he took the glass.

Everyone at the table laughed and I was glad that they we could have breakfast comfortably. I would have had indigestion if it was otherwise.

After breakfast, we all gathered in a big room and the air instantly felt stuffy as Hongjoong's mum cleared her throat.

" We're all aware of the terrible fact that Kim Sangtae is alive and is roaming about ". She said.

" How did that happen? He was sentenced to death". Eunsoo asked.

" He was aided by a group of police officers who used to be a member of his group. The officials only discovered the truth a few months ago or so. They've been able to arrest some members of the group who remained in Korea. The police is currently currently working with the embassy and the police of the other countries the rest of the members fled to. They'll get them soon. As for Kim Sangtae...it won't take too long ". She said.

" So we just sit and wait? I'm tired of waiting. We should do something before he does ". Eunsoo said as he stood up.

" Something like what? ". Hongjoong asked.

" He wants me so.....let him have me ". Eunsoo said, with a blank expression.

" Hyung! What the hell are you talking about? ". Bada asked with a bewildered expression plastered on his face

" Listen to me. No one is letting him have anything. We're not sacrificing anyone ". I said as I looked at him.

" Everyone relax and listen to me. Kim Sangtae is more desperate and afraid than we are. He is outnumbered, alone and on the run. We have the upper hand now. We can decide to play it smart or cower away. Aren't you tired of letting him disrupt our lives? I'm so sick of hearing his name already so let's make him wish he never got out "

KIM SANGTAE

Puffs and puffs of smoke flew about as I paced around. It wasn't supposed to be like this. That little devil keeps playing with me. I should make a move fast before that wench helps him pull another one on me.

*ring ring ring ring

The distressed sigh at the other end of the phone relieved me a little.

" Talk to me you fucking rat!!! "

*Tell me what you want. I'll do whatever you want so leave my family alone

" What I want? I don't really want much. All I want is your cold lifeless body after I run my knife through you"

*If you don't die by mine first. I'll make you wish you had just been electrocuted back then

" Meet me at D-Group's redevelopment area in Incheon. I'll be waiting for you. Oh and if you think of playing games with me....you'll all end up dead"

*Wait for me Kim Sangtae

LEE TAEMIN

I heard him snicker on the other end before Eunsoo hung up. I feel agitated and everyone one else probably feels the same way.

" Hongjoong, Taemin and I will go get ready and head out. The rest of you stay together and stay safe ". Eunsoo said.

We grabbed some weapons and prepared to leave. Mum and everyone else were standing at the door, waiting for us. I rushed over to her and hugged her tightly.

" Comeback soon. Okay? "

" I will ". I said.

She smiled and walked over to Eunsoo and Hongjoong.

" You....don't make us wait for you okay? ". Such said as she and Minji hugged me.

" Temin *Oppa come back quickly so we can all have dinner together ". Taeri said as I patted her head.

" My men will join you as soon as you get there. Stay safe....all of you ". Hongjoong's mum said.

Eunsoo got into the drivers seat and looked over at Hongjoong and I before driving the car out the gates. I felt uneasy and agitated.
