CHAPTER ELEVEN

Chichi locks her car as she drives in, she is startled to hear the sound of laughter from her apartment, she walks towards the door to be sure if it is really from her apartment, the voices and laughter grew louder. She barges in immediately; her mother is seated at the dining table with a familiar face. They looked in her direction at the sound of the door "Chichi you are back! We have an august visitor" her mother had announced, Chichi's leg lost every nerve and vein in it, she stood as still as a rock wondering what the hell this guy was doing in her house, why would her mother bring her ex-boyfriend to her house?

Richard waves from where he is seated "Hi chi"

Chichi who is still in shock looks at him

disgustingly. Eight years ago, Richard meant the

world to her, they had dated for a year before she

realized those overprotective, insecure and

monitoring attributes of his were far from what she thought to be love and care, he was obsessed with her all the while but she was too blind to see it until it was late. Richard would spend the whole day with her back then when she never even lived alone, he would get to her house as early as any fresher student resuming for his first lecture in school and would stay till late hour till her roommate complains before he takes his leave. Then resumes the next day, same time in the morning meanwhile all they did in the house was to gist, crack jokes, catch up and cuddle. It was all fun until Richard met a guy

in her room on a blessed day when she was out; he questioned the guy until the guy became uncomfortable that he had to take his leave. Chichi got home to meet an attitude swollen

Richard in her room, with no questions asked nor

verification done, he beat her black and blue that

she almost fainted. Ever since then, Richard

became her worst nightmare, despite getting to

know the truth that the male visitor wasn't hers but her roommate's, he acted like he wasn't wrong, if a man wasn't in her room, the beating wouldn't have happened. Chichi cuts all ties with him at that moment but Richard would stalk her daily, call her 24/7, and text her till she blocked him off then he got another number and continued. She remembers the day he called and begged her to forgive him because he is dying; she had gotten so scared and asked him what was wrong and how she could be of help. All he requested was her forgiveness in case it is his last day on earth. This scared Chichi, she asked what happened and he said he was probably suffering from his bad deeds towards her. He narrated how terribly sick he has been for over two weeks and extremely broke to the point that he can not afford medication, which startled Chichi. He apologized for his wrongs and begged, perhaps if Chichi could buy and bring him medication. She rushed to a pharmacy to get drugs with the last cash she had on her and jumped on a bike this particular day to save her dying ex, only to be lured in, and got tied up for hours that she begged for her life. Richard threatened her that day to get back together with him or else he was going to kill her right there, on the table beside where she was tied to was knives, blades, ropes, poison, drugs, and acid. Hot sweat ran down her spine and her hands which remained tied didn't stop trembling.

Richard had told her to pick how she wanted to die, she begged so hard for her life, said all manner of sweet words to him to calm his nerves but he sat and stared at her emotionlessly. She regretted how stupid she was to have fallen for his lies, and even sacrificing her last dine to provide for him when all the while, he had other plan to endanger her.

The hour didn't pass by without fight, struggle and screenched, yet Richard successfully raped her for hours while she bled and cried in pain. Chichi relocated out of that environment after this incident, changed all her phone numbers and that's the last she heard of Richard until now, the monster that ruined her is right in her house, staring back at her.

Chichi finally felt her legs, she slammed the door

and runs back into her car and drives off. With

nowhere in mind, she just wanted to go anywhere

her mental state can be saved.
