Chapter 6

At least we'll get to meet new people, particularly those who live in Los Angeles, I reasoned when Jimmy's coworker at work asked us to a pool party at his home. Jimmy left his house a little early so he could stop at the grocery before going to the event. Derry and I were the only ones at home as we awaited the arrival of 2 o'clock so we could go to the party in Los Angeles. Everything seemed to be in order when we got to the party's location, but Jimmy wasn't there. I follow Jimmy's colleague on foot.

Do you recognize Jim? I queried.

"Check my living room; he just left here a little time ago. You may be able to locate him there. He spoke.

Thank you. In gratitude, I remarked

As I got closer to the main structure, I peered through the clear glass window and saw Jimmy and Derry taking a sip of red wine and savoring the occasion. When I saw Drake's girlfriend "Mabel, who has been in a relationship with Drake for several months now," I was just about to enter the premises. Hey! I must say, darling, that your clothing is lovely and flattering on you. Mabel gave praise.

You're welcome, and yours looks fantastic too. I said.

She left me after we had a lengthy conversation near the building to go join her partner and other people in the pool. God, Mabel is loud and chatty; fortunately, she found a partner who would put up with her. Jimmy and Derry were nowhere to be seen when I opened the entrance to the main building; maybe they had left by the rear door to join others in the pool. I returned to the pool, but as I got closer, I saw that everyone who had been invited, including Drake and his girlfriend Mabel, was having a good time. Some people were drinking, while others were swimming in the water. Derry and my partner, however, were far from the pool.

Perhaps they departed without telling me? I pondered. But those vehicles are still parked there. I considered searching for the two adult males like they were little children, but to no effect.

"Young woman, you seem exhausted.

turned around to check if it may be them. Standing in front of me is a lovely young guy who is tall, with adorable brown eyes, and dark skin. His stance is so amazing that I started to wonder how big his rod was.

"Here! Drink some wine to ease your anxiety. He presented me with a champagne glass. His cuteness and his lovely voice had me staring at every inch of his body.

"Young woman, are you alright? His query

Yes, I am. I retorted that He caused me to temporarily lose consciousness before I recovered it. Due to my feelings, I was compelled to make my shot.

"My name is Jane; what about you? I questioned while posing as either enraged or desperate.

"I'm Drake's cousin; call me Eric.

"No way!!! Are you for real? Had Drake a cousin? I had no idea he lived close to any family.

"Of course, sweetie," I assure you, "No one was aware that he had family in Los Angeles. Even when I attempted to inquire whether he had any relatives in Los Angeles, he never mentioned you; instead, he just remarked, "An ocean prefers to keep her secrets to herself, but would expose them to those who have gone under it."

"Well! Drake didn't want to discuss his family with people he didn't know, sometimes even with his buddies. I stay downtown near a mall that is hidden behind St. Peter's Square. Wow," remarked Eric. We are neighboring houses. There and our flat are just a few blocks away. What do you think—should we spend some time together or not? I queried.

"It strikes me as a good concept. He accepted my recommendation.

"Are you the only resident in your apartment? I query

"Yeah! I only recently left my parents' home. Come by this weekend, please. Let's get together and talk for a while. Yes, I would love to attend, sweetie.

Tell me, then, why you're here partying by yourself. Eric queried.

Actually, I went with my boyfriend and Derry, one of his friends. However, they are nowhere to be discovered. I looked everywhere, but it was in vain. I answered.

So that's why you seem to be a stressed-out machine. Eric stated in a mocking tone.

"Let's go! I didn't seem too horrible, and I wasn't really concerned about how I looked—just where they may be. I said.

"But you appeared to be a worn-out machine. "Hey!" he continued. Stop making fun of my stress, and those two had better be able to explain where they were. I expressed frustration.

"Fear not; they are mature men. so that they can look for themselves. While you're here anxious about their whereabouts, they may be out and about having fun. Relax and take in the celebration. said Eric.

Yes, it is accurate. I agreed, saying, "Let's go swimming; maybe that will relieve your tension. He queried.

Although swimming is a good concept, I actually don't want to do it. Perhaps a quiet or private setting would be better. I propose. If that's okay with you, I believe I know somewhere we could go. said Eric.

And where could it be?

Let's go! You'll be aware when we arrive. Let's go for a stroll as it's not far away. said Eric.

You can't be serious, can you? I query

Yes, I'm serious. Eric answered.

"Alright! Let's go for a stroll.
