Chapter Ten

Vanessa got to school just as it was already time for morning gathering. She walked briskly towards the hall but suddenly halted when she saw Collins and Max laughing as they proceed towards the gathering floor. Her gaze only focused on Collins, he looks very smart with his hand stocked into his pocket. She couldn't get her eyes off him as he suddenly looks so handsome like extremely handsome. His laughter made her heart beats faster, his skin was as if it was glittering. She just couldn't bring herself to look away till he was out of sight before she came back to her senses.

"Vanessa, what are you doing?", She scolded herself with a knock on the head. She then ran into the hall but stayed at the back. During the recitation of the national and school anthem, some students were purposely singing rubbish while some were busy laughing at it. One of the students that was crushing on Collins, Catherine ,stood at the back and looked around to see if anyone was watching. Seeing that she had no attention, she sneaked out of the gathering but unknowingly that Vanessa saw her.

The morning was very bright, Collins was looking around for Vanessa and saw her at the back roll. He smiled at her but she didn't see him. He was surprised to see her leaving the hall stylishly. He wondered what she was up to and decided to follow her. Lissa who was standing behind Collins saw him looking around and few seconds later,he was already sneaking out. She became curious and followed him unknowingly.

Catherine passed through the hallway and went to her locker. She brought out some bunch of keys, unknowingly to her that she's being followed. When Vanessa saw the key holder which is in color yellow. It reminded her of the day that the school gardener died. She was coming to school very early that day to surprise her friends, but for her friends not to quickly get a glimpse of her, she decided to pass through the garden side of the school and saw Catherine with the garderner.

"let me have the keys and I promised to return it",

"there's nothing that can make me hand over the keys to you, you are a student for that matter, what did you need it for?",

"it's none of your business, just hand it over",

"I will never give it to you, not with this rude manners, nothing, I mean nothing will ever made me give it to you",

"even death?". This was when Vanessa's phone rang , so she ran off to give her friends her surprise package since it was one of them who's calling her already.

Now it damned on her, the garderner's death?. She had thought Catherine is one of the students that loves looking for trouble and what she was saying was just an empty threat. 

She quickly hide when Catherine was looking around to make sure no one was watching. She then headed towards the year tutor's office. Vanessa wondered what she was up to this time as she followed. She then saw her bringing out some files and replaced it with some other files on the table. Then Vanessa heard an approaching footsteps and quickly went to hide. Catherine also heard the foot steps and quickly rushed out of the office. She locked the door and ran towards the direction Vanessa also took. Vanessa began to ran as the foot steps keeps getting closer, she thought Catherine has seen her and was running after her not knowing Catherine has taken another route and it was someone else's foot steps that she's hearing. Suddenly, some dragged her into the corner of Class A . The hand turned her over and rested her back on him very tight and covered her mouth so she won't make a sound. It all happened so quick . One of her hand held the hand that covered her mouth while the person's second arm was held down with hers against her tummy causing her to rest against him. The foot steps became louder and after some seconds, everywhere was quiet again. Then Collins lowered his hand that was covering her mouth. She instantly looked at who it was,

"Collins?", she called,

"why did you follow her?",

"the same reason why you followed me",she replied mindfully.

Collins, whose hand is still wrapped around her waist pulled her closer causing her to gasped. Her eyes locked with Collins's ,she had a questioning look,

"what is the reason why I followed?", 

"Collins",she said trying to tell him to let her go . They were so close with no gap between them that her heart start beating so fast. She has watched alot of movies and In any situation where a girl and guy are this close, the guy tend to always grabbing the opportunity to steal a kiss from the girl.  Vanessa quickly poked her lips into her mouth, her legs were somewhat shaking. Collins noticed this but smirked. He scoffed and released her. Vanessa felt so relieved.

"thought am going to kiss you?",

"hm?...",she scoffed,"why would I..",

"don't worry, I am a nice guy, moreover I don't like girls with this type of your nose , they are not attractive",

"what?", Vanessa scoffed feeling insulted and touched her nose. Collins smirked and left. Vanessa was very angry at him, she went back to the hall which soon come to an end and everyone went back to their various class. Vanessa's friends noticed that she looks so upset,

"what's wrong Vanessa?", Lissa asked,

She turned sharply at them making them all to halt. 

"does my nose makes me look ugly?",

"of course not, it's moderate and cute", Vero replied,

"am I not attractive?", 

"What?, says who?, you're very beautiful and attractive", Veronica replied,

"that jerk",

"What?, did someone said anything to you?", Lissa asked curiously,"a girl?",

"then the girl must be jealous of you, who doesn't know that you are among the first five most beautiful girls in this school", 

Vanessa smiled.

"c'mon let's go", Vero said and they proceed to their class.

"hello Lissa",

"hello Jack", Lissa replied smiling,

"What?, when did Jack started calling you by your name?", Vanessa asked looking surprised. Veronica narrated what happened while she was away and she burst into laughter.

"but he still calls me lizard some times but well.....I think am beginning to like it",

"hmmm....",they gave out,

"What?",she gave a questioning look,

"you've started liking him", Vanessa teased,

"what?, stop kidding around",

"We understand", Vanessa and Veronica teased while she rolled her eyes.
