Reunite (2)

He looked like a man in the middle of his 40s, with an unkempt beard and a slightly messed up slick-back to keep his hair out of his eyes.

Visible signs of aging were marked on his face and hands, even though he knew he was growing old.

"You know what systems are old man?" Jason impolitely said, finding it hilarious.

He peeked at one of the other members, a younger more messy version of the man. He had dirty blonde hair that was pretty ruffled and curly, and shimmering blue eyes reflecting the sun. He was also quite unfit.

"It was me... I told him about it. It's a lame name but it's a way to keep it simple." He sheepishly said, obviously embarrassed explaining such a thing.

"I assumed that. Pretty smart to keep it basic," Complimenting the man, Jason smiled and introduced himself to the others. "I'm Jason, I'm fourteen and I use wind. That's all there is concerning me."

"Good. Keeping it vague. Although there is more to know." Another burly man spoke out.

Like Hugo's intimidating look, this man looked like a big bear.

Black short hair, just enough to grab it and move it a bit. He wore a simple black coat with a long pole at his hip.

Despite him obviously being in his 30s, his face made it hard to believe.

"Jovian said we'll have our fourth party mission order very soon, a few days. That gives us time to grow chemistry with one another on the battlefield."

Jason nodded as he listened on.

"We'll take some light missions. Get a grasp of how we work, and work on that together. First things first, everyone put your stats on visible, and present yourself to the newcomer.

The burly man stood up first.

"William."

A voluptuously outlined woman stood up afterward. A shirt that barely kept her breasts in her shirt approached Jason, looking him straight in his eyes.

"Shereen."

The older-blond man stayed in his seat. "Although troublesome, I wish to keep my stats a secret, sorry."

Jason didn't mind, he understood that if people gave their information out freely it could result in some bad things, but Jason didn't care that much, he was sure he would be able to defend himself against the party in the very near future after a few days or weeks.

The last man came forward. He was young, near Jason's age. He also had a slick back, although blonde. Diversely colored eyes and quite tall.

"Jax..." Jason uttered, recognizing him almost instantly.

"You're right. It is me."

Jax, the top dog at Jason's school you could say. The cocky arrogant student that leisurely sat at school, not listening or paying the due respect.

Not only was he here, but he was also powerful. The strongest one in the room.

The others noticed the ominous atmosphere clouding the two, puzzled as to why.

"It's weird Jason. You bolted out of that room so fast that you knew the aliens were there. How?"

Jax wittily asked, staring daggers into Jason.

"I didn't. I just know when I'm going to die."

Jax stood there, expressionless and unmoving for a moment before replying. "We'll see if that saves you in fights."

Jax backed off, sitting down on the wooden seat that he claimed.

Jason continued to stare at the man before Hugo interrupted.

"I'm Hugo."

On paper, Hugo would seem the strongest. But without the usage of mana, anyone with near similar physical stats would be able to bombard him, keeping him entirely on the defensive.

"You're a magicless?"

Hugo nodded. He already accepted the fact long ago.

"That just leaves you, pretty boy." Erin slyly stated, giving Jason a seductive grin, showcasing her pearly whites.

"I'm Jason."

"Title?" All of them said in unison.

No one in Altidor has achieved a title yet, not even Jovian.

The other thing was how it said his Wind was level 1.

"I earned it after killing all the shrimp with my spell. I didn't know until I awoke, which also explains why I'm weaker than all of you right now."

Everyone, including Jax, was interested. They started asking a series of questions until a good one came up.

"What does a title do?"

Jason took a second before responding. He wasn't even sure what it did.

[System, what does a title do?]

[Shrimping The Shrimp: Attacks deal 35% more damage to shrimp and 5% to sea creatures. 15% Bonus XP from sea creatures.]

Jason displayed the description publicly to everyone in the room.

"I need me a title." William joked, chuckling.

"Everyone does. The benefits would be tremendous." Jax stated.

"Let's go earn some then," Jason said, looking to gain the approval of the others.

"Sure. But you'll have to give it a moment, Javion's orders."

"Why?" Jason asked William, finally taking a seat."

"Multiple Suljars were spotted, four. Jovian said to stay inside until they go away. Together, we might be able to kill a singular Suljar, but two is still impossible."

Erin nodded in agreement, still eyeing Jason out of curiosity.

"Okay. On the topic of Javion, where is he?" Jason carefreely asked. Making contact with everyone's eyes for an answer.

"In the biggest building of Altidor. Just say you're a player and you'll be let in."

On cue, Jason stood up, exiting the building. Not before looking back at the group.

"Thank you for the information. I look forward to hunting with you guys." He presented his charming smile, which made Erin's heart flutter, gaining a secret crush that she wasn't aware of.

Jason snapped his head back to the city, scanning for the biggest building. Instantly, he noticed a giant dome-like building, recognizing the location he wanted to go to instantly.

He walked toward the building, casually greeting all the passing citizens.

Unbeknownst, the ID he was amazed about earlier fell out of his pocket, and a little boy picked it up.

"Sir!" The voice yelled out, just behind Jason.

Jason spun back, locking eyes with the child.

"Is this yours?" He said, extending his arm toward Jason.

Jason knelt down, grabbed the card, and examined it. "It is, thank you." Jason looked around. He wanted to thank the child's parents, however, there were none in sight.

Jason looked back to the little boy, wearing the charming smile he did with Erin.

"Where is your father or mother?" Jason softly asked, putting his hand on the boy's shoulder.

"Mommy has been gone since I was born, and daddy went to a job a few days ago but hasn't come back."

Jason quickly realized his mother died at birth, and his father was a warrior just like him. However, missions taking days? Jason wasn't sure if this was normal or not.

"Come with me. We'll go find your dad."

Jason grabbed the little boy's hand and walked toward the gigantic building.

"Is my dad okay?"

The tone made Jason falter. He didn't know. A mission taking multiple days? Sure, that could be normal, but he had this horrible feeling in his gut that he was wrong.

"We'll find out," Jason stated.
